I have actually thought about requesting a game of learn Russian for while we all watch the Russian streams. It could be kinda fun, and not too difficult I would hope, to have a Russian speaker give us a few words to listen for that are likely to pop up in the broadcast. Even like 3 or 4 that are likely to be said, could be a fun thing for us non speakers to pick up on and at least know what that one little bit means. Sorta like how we always knew Scott Hamilton would say "Nails It!" at one point in a broadcast - Russians could give us some little things like that to listen for.

I would not call it learning Russian, but I bet we could all learn a few words by the end of the next Grand Prix season.

Well , the one in eurosport says all the time clean as you like it 😍😍 as for the russian speakers , i have to admit that when liza jumped the 3A he just screamed something in russian. hhhmmmmm let me guess what he said πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ even from the level of the voice you imagine that something good happens. But i agree , 10 expressions would be good to know πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

"Iconic" is a good word, regarding big esteem for icons in Russia. It almost looks like the moment this girl steps on the ice she becomes sacred somehow. It sounds blasphemous, but it's not like Julia is next Jesus for me), I just believe god gave her a special gift of expressing and emanating human goodness, dignity and innocence through the skating.
I think she is decent person off rink and a good role model for young people, but it's those few Julia's minutes on the ice that are most important to me: watching this kid, I feel peace, redemption and blessing. :)
