If you throw a card onto the ice, PLEASE make sure it is BRIGHTLY coloured and LARGE (put it in a big envelope if necessary). Don't be like the moron who threw WHITE cards onto the ice at Boston and caused Ivan Rhigini to have a big fall right before his SP.

Also please make sure that nothing can fall off the cards - no glitter, no googly eyes or stuck-on stuff that might come unstuck.

It is more common to throw things after the FS, but no rule precluding throwing things after the SP.

If you take pictures, NO FLASH. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease.

Does anyone know where to find the standing for the GPF? I want to know who has the best chance to qualify.

We heard the news this morning that Federica Testa has decided to retire to concentrate on her studies, and that Lukáš Csölley's new partner will be Lucie Myslivečková.

Lucie is from the Czech Republic.
Lukáš is from Slovakia.
Both were born before Czechoslovakia split.

So, what is the situation with regards citizenship? Is it like here in Northern Ireland where we are automatically entitled to both British and Irish citizenship? Are Czechs and Slovaks automatically entitled to citizenship of both countries?

I'm just wondering if Lucie has to go through a pile of hoops in the next year-and-a-half to be able to compete for Slovakia in Pyeongchang.

CaroLiza_fan

I'm not completely sure, but after Czechoalovakia split the citizens chose one of the citizenships. Not sure how it worked for little children, I was born four years after the split and my parents have only Czech citizenship. However, I think it could be easier for Lucie to get Slovakian citizenship, since she's Czech and vice versa.

I asked this in her fan fest but got no answer so I thought I'd see if anyone here knows anything about Elene Gedevanishvili? Has she retired officially now? Is she injured? At this point it doesn't appear that she intends to compete this year...

Hello
I have a question about the list of highest scores of ISU.
As we know Shoma Uno scored a personal best of 105.74 points on 2016 Team Challenge Cup but you can't find this result in the lists of highest scores of ISU:
http://www.isuresults.com/isujsstat/pbsmsp.htm
It isn't on Wikipedia too:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest_scores_in_figure_skating#Best_short_program_scores
Though it is here:
https://www.everipedia.com/List_of_highest_scores_in_figure_skating/
What's the reason?

The ISU did not count scores from TCC.

Scores only from the following comps count toward ISU "best" scores:
- ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating and Final
- ISU Senior Grand Prix of Figure Skating and Final
- ISU Figure Skating Championships (meaning Worlds, Junior Worlds, Four Continents, Euros, ISU World Team Trophy)
- Olympic Winter Games or Youth Olympic Games
- ISU Challenger Series Events

Team Challenge Cup scores do not count.

It's sad because we cannot see the whole picture in that case.

There is usually an extra dose of...shall we say generous scoring in non-sanctioned ISU events, such as club competitions and nationals, etc, so its generally wise to not include those scores in the ISU records.

This is correct but only for Season Best list, not PB skaters has on ISU Bios. And document you linked clearly says it:

A listing of seasons best scores for each season will be compiled to include the following events [...]

I believe ekaniki asked about Personal Best, not Season Best, and that's huge difference. For PB all Senior B's scores are counted, not only Challengers. Also, as far as I remember scores from competitions like World Team Trophy or Youth Olympic Games counts too, as I have seen skaters getting PB on ISU Bio from these competitions.

I think TCC was organised not by ISU, unnike WTT, and that's why these scores were not counted to PB, but I don't have any confirmation for that.

... For PB all Senior B's scores are counted, not only Challengers. ...

I am 99.9999% sure that it is NOT true that all Senior B scores count for Personal Bests.

Example:

When the Challenger Series was launched in 2014, Challenger scores started being counted for Personal Bests (as well as Season's Bests).

The 2014 US Classic was the very first Challenger comp.
At the 2014 US Classic, at least one of Max Aaron's scores was lower than his corresponding score at the 2013 US Classic.

The 2013 US Classic was not a Challenger comp, b/c the Challenger Series did not even exist yet.
The 2013 US Classic was just a plain old Senior B.

Max's 2014 US Classic score counted as his ISU Personal Best at the time -- and was shown on his ISU bio as his ISU Personal Best.
His 2013 US Classic score, which was higher, did not count as his ISU Personal Best.

Something quite different that is true:

Scores from Senior Bs do count toward Minimum TES requirements.

But not toward Personal Bests or Season's Bests.

... as I remember scores from competitions like World Team Trophy or Youth Olympic Games counts too, as I have seen skaters getting PB on ISU Bio from these competitions.

Yes -- and in my post above, I already included the ISU World Team Trophy and the YOG on the list of comps that count toward ISU "bests."

Correct. Team Challenge Cup was organized by USFS, not by the ISU.
And TCC scores did not count toward Personal Bests or Season's Bests.

Ah, you're right. My perception was different, but it maybe because Challenger status is changing for some events. Sorry for this. That's also why it was funny with Laurine at TdF, since I knew she had good scores recently, but her ISU Bio had implied her PB was much lower... stupid me thought they just didn't counted to SB.

PS Good thing there are sites that collect all results, some teams compete only in those Senior B's that aren't Challengers.

Yes, re the changing Challenger status. And great minds think alike :ghug::

I was just looking up some stats for Sean Rabbitt, who competed at 2015 Autumn Classic -- when it was not a Challenger comp.
(Although it was a Challenger comp in 2014 and 2016.)

Sean's FS TES at 2015 Autumn Classic was 65.05.

But as shown on Sean's current list of ISU Personal Bests, Sean's ISU PB for FS TES is 64.11, which he earned at the 2016 US Classic.

2015 Autumn Classic was just a plain old Senior B, so Sean's FS TES there did/does not count as his ISU Personal Best.

That is a great Wikipedia page. Obviously you didn't notice but you could have found an answer to your question at that wikipedia page because this is what it says about the matter:
Note: The following lists only include scores which are skated at international competitions run under ISU rules. For example, Evgenia Medvedeva has scored 234.88 points at the 2016 Russian Championships and she has also scored 151.55 points in Free skating at the 2016 Team Challenge Cup which both are better scores than what is listed at the following lists. The reason these scores can not be listed here is that ISU does not recognize scores which are skated at national championships. Team Challenge Cup scores are also not recognized under ISU.

Scores only from the following comps count toward ISU "best" scores:
- ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating and Final
- ISU Senior Grand Prix of Figure Skating and Final
- ISU Figure Skating Championships (meaning Worlds, Junior Worlds, Four Continents, Euros, ISU World Team Trophy)
- Olympic Winter Games or Youth Olympic Games
- ISU Challenger Series Events
http://static.isu.org/media/351567/gp-general-announcement-2016_17-final.pdf (see page 3)

Team Challenge Cup scores do not count.

Also team event at the olympic winter games counts but team event at the Youth Olympic Games doesn't count.
