Thanks for the update. He had the Nino Rota version of R & J for his SP during the Olympic season so I hope he will have a different version for his LP this coming season.

But more than program music, I think what is crucial for him, as noted in the posts in this thread, is stabilizing his triple jumps and getting a quad. I have read Shoma was able to make his triple axel consistent and get his quad toe with help from Ilia Kulik with whom Michael is also working. I hope Michael will also be able to the do the same.

Sort of out of topic: Apparently, selected indoor winter sports (including figure skating and hockey) will be medal events for the Southeast Asian Games in Malaysia in September 2017. So there's that and the the Asian Games in Sapporo (February) to look forward to in 2017. I'm assuming the fed will send him partially to help him prepare for Pyeongchang. Anyway, I'm buzzing and hoping for the best for all competitors, especially for Martinez (and by extension, the Philippine Team) .

I am hoping that Ice Dance and Pairs will be included as well. :biggrin:

He said he hopes to retire by the age of 23 after the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines "[because] of all the pain."

So as he has set a timeline for his competitive skating career, I hope and pray he'll make the most of the years he has left so he will have best results in the 2018 Olympics and 2019 SEA Games. Go Michael!

No problem!

It is sad that he stating when to retire already but with the injury-ridden nature of the sport, I think it is good for him to set a limit on his career. And yes, I hope he makes the best out of his career!

He would be too young to retire by that time in 2019 but It’s good to know that he seems to have many hopes that he wants to do after his retirement.
It also would be fine to see him supporting his kouhai athletes as a coach or choreographer.

but I just wish Michael would be able to get the good condition of being free from injury and staying as a competitive skater with health for a long time. :cheer2:

It's noteworthy to mention that he's actually been offered by other countries to skate for them, leading up to Sochi. Glad he stuck it out for the PH despite not having a lot of financial backing and government support.
