Wow, no senior pairs... A polish pair (Okhrem/Chruscinski) was scheduled to compete at an international competition but finally withdrew, and it seems that the new pair with Pavel Kaska (I don't remember who was the girl...) is already done.

Yes, I find that very sad, given that they have the Siudeks there coaching, so even with good pair coaches, they don,'t have at least 2 pair teams.

However, is it possible that the team with Pavel Kaska is still active? This is not an ISU competition. It's sole purpose is to pick the champions for each of the four nations. If there is only one pair, I don't see the need to compete at all here

Yes, that's possible too... But I was surprised to see Pavel Kaska competing single, and as there is 3 spots for Europeans, maybe he finally stays single...

Thank you! Best for first... mhh.. not a good strategy IMHO

Yeah, like he's leading by 20 points over the rest of the field!

Now that I've seen Brezina, I think I'll head over to France at the end of Group 1 to watch the Short Dance, and then return for Group 3.

Like, with a score like that, nobody's going to touch him in the meantime!

The livestream used for French Nationals doesn't seem to be working today, and the FFSG hasn't given us a replacement address on their Facebook page.

So, I'm back! And all I missed was the warm-up!

Well, it's not all that bad. At least here we have a livestream AND live scoring! ;)

Wiktor WITKOWSKI (POL) just over-ran the music by the longest margin I think I have ever seen!

But, there is no sign of him being given a deduction for it.

It doesn't matter in the greater scheme of things, because he is currently in last position... and by a good distance!

Another year, the ISU should consider Budapest's Santa Claus Cup for Challengers series rather than Zagreb's Golden Spin. They do a great job here.

I don't know about replacing the Golden Spin. I'd give the Croatian Federation another year, as they probably weren't expecting the Challenger Series to be so popular, and so were caught out.

I know I've said it before last season, but what I would prefer to see is the GP Series extended to 8 events (plus the final), with an extra GP in Western Europe (probably the Nebelhorn) and an extra GP in Eastern Europe (probably the Ondrej Nepela).

Then another 2 Senior B's could slot in to take their places in the Challenger Series. And I agree with you - after seeing what the Hungarian Federation has done here, the Santa Clause Cup would be a perfect candidate. Personally, I would like to see Skate Down Under in the Challenger Series as well.

But, I can't see them extending the GP Series, so you're idea is probably the more one that's more likely to possibly happen!

Ah good. With things running late in France, the final group of the Ladies SP here might just finish before the French Men's SP comes on.

The French Ladies FS finished just in time for me to see Ukolova and Brezinova. Then during the resurfacing here, the (dramatic!) French Pairs FS was on. And then it finished just in time to return here for the start of the final group of the Ladies SP.

Pity I missed Rajicova, though. I was expecting her to be amongst the front runners, but I was not expecting her to be 7 points ahead of Brezinova!

Why did they have to have her starting so early?! Like, it was pretty obvious that she was going to be one of the top contenders!

There again, sure they had Brezina starting first in the Men's competition, so... :rolleye:

Come on Agata. Do Ziggy proud.

Well, I can see what Ziggy saw in her. Definitely a lot of potential there.

In a few years time, I can see her becoming one of the main contenders here.

She's currently 7th with 2 to go.

The VERY experienced Ivett Toth is up next.
