Thought it would be a good idea to get this done before the American and Canadian Senior Championships start.

Unfortunately, due to Bundesliga coverage, it looks like Dutch viewers are going to be missing out on LIVE coverage of the Men’s Free and the Gala.

But the good news for the rest of us is that there will only be one competition that there will not have LIVE coverage of. :cheer:

The bad news is that it is the Ladies Free  :bang: :disapp:

Fortunately, they do try to make up for it by showing 1h 15m of highlights later in the afternoon.

Overall, the coverage of the European Championships on Eurosport is looking to be very good.

Fingers crossed we get the same level of coverage for 4 Continents (no snooker tournaments) and Worlds (erm, the World Figure Skating Championships are in China this year, while the Snooker PTC Grand Finals are in Thailand, so…)

In France, on the public television (France 2 and France 3), we will see the free ladies, the free pairs and the gala. If we haven't Eurosport, we can't see the dance, our biggest chance of victory

What kind of a joke is this? Seems to me the Ladies FS would likely be the most popular event at Europeans this year, although maybe that is my bias talking.

Think about it: 90 minutes of tape-delayed highlights of the Ladies FS, while EuroSport2 is showing 165 minutes of live coverage of the Pairs SP...

Erm, it's even worse than that. It's only 75 minutes. And that will probably include a couple of sets of adverts.

And, sorry, but I'm looking forward to the Pairs competitions. I want to see how the Russians and the lovely Miss Marchei get on! ;)

I know. It's mad that they're not showing the Ladies FS live.

Tennis and football are taking over Eurosport 1, while Eurosport 2 is completely ski sports once the tennis is over. So, there is no room for LIVE figure skating.

But, it could be worse. They could have decided not to bother showing any highlights.

Hopefully спорт-2 will be showing the Ladies FS in its entirity...

I suppose tennis, football and ski sports are better excuses than snooker:rolleye:

But this sucks nonetheless! :scowl:

That's Eurosport for ya, probably not even showing half of the starting lists, and of those skaters, not even everything live. Yay for livestreams.

Well, they will be airing over 1 hour of highlights, meaning they will surely cover everyone you probably want to hear about. Unless you are dying to hear what they have to say about, I dunno, Natalia Popova or Fleur Maxwell...I don't think it's a big deal.

Actually, I really would like to hear EuroSport commentary on a skater like Natalia Popova.

I plan on watching a live-stream (commentary-free), so then I'd have to go back later and re-watch B.ESP's coverage to listen to the commentary for selected highlights they choose to air.

It's only a "big deal" because I'd prefer to hear B.ESP commentary while watching live (which won't be an option), and now I will need to devote more of my time watching previously seen footage from B.ESP's tape-delay.

Of course, I don't need to do this, but being the devoted fan I am, I will be.

yep that's the Dutch Eurosport like we know it. only iceskating live outside 'peak' hours or during weekdays. so no men and ladies free and also no gala live on ESP2. luckily enough I will be in Stockholm to watch it from very close. the summary of the event on ESP1 on Monday I will tape as I want to hear our good commentators Haya, Jeroen and Ivo what they have to say about the perfomances. have fun everyone while watching this great event.:cheer:

But I think sportbox.ru is geoblocked, isn't it. At least, I had problem with it last year.

I wonder about commentators on British Eurosport, I so hope for Robin Cousins he is the best!

But Robin is normally with the BBC, so I doubt if he will be on Eurosport.

And I would be nearly positive that Simon Reed won't be doing Europeans, as the Australian Open will still be on, and he is on Eurosport's tennis commentary team.

So, I would say it will be Chris Howarth and Nicky Slater, plus a guest commentator or 2 if needed.

Just so long as Joanne Conway isn't there...
