Yes such a shame! Nelli & Alexander great interpreters on the ice, always came up with something different!
The same thing happened to Jenna McCorkell last year, when it was her final World's she had to withdraw after her SP due to injury.
In both cases sad to end like that!

It's also a shame since, though they were not in contention for a medal, they truly did have the potential to finish higher than they ever had before given how the other teams did... they could concievably have been in the top 7 for sure or maybe even a bit higher if they'd done their absolute best.
