Judges from Russia, Netherlands, Spain, Canada and Australia are expected to be on hand. The countries of Poland, Italy, Israel, Canada, Azerbaijan and the U.S. will be represented on the technical panel.
While feedback sessions have long been offered in Lake Placid, on-ice critiques will be broadly available this year as well.
"Skaters can sign up for 20-minute sessions, and have a judge and technical specialist look at a new lift or another new move, and ask what they think," Cutone said.

Judges from Russia and Canada and Spain, Netherlands and Australia.
The competitors will get some great international input!

Some very interesting entries, in the senior event especially!

http://http://www.lakeplacidskating.com/events/IDC/LPIDI15%20Entries.pdf

Very excited to see what Charlotte Maxwell/Ryan Devereaux do in their first international, and what new teams Isabella Tobias/Ilia Tkachenko and Danielle Thomas/Daniel Eaton bring to the table!

Thx for the alert re entries.

Your link for the entries in the new International comp should be:

Links for entries, practice groups, etc., for the long-standing (non-international) Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships are here:

Footnote to my post above:
The new Aldridge and Eaton partnerships not competing head to head. Aldridge/Beamer are entered in the non-international comp.

Many of the better skaters are in the non- international events.

For one thing, the Parsons (2nd in US Juniors) are in the International, but Quinn Carpenter &Lorraine McNamara and Pogrebinsky and Benoit (1st and 3rd at US juniors) are in the non International!

Maybe the International is filled with skaters looking for TES qualifying scores?

Thanks Doris! We're headed to this event for the first time, and any info we can get in advance is greatly appreciated. It sounds like a pretty jammed-filled event, and the way the teams are divided is a bit confusing to us, so we are looking for any "must-see" teams that we shouldn't miss.

This trip holds special meaning to my partner and I. My partner skated in Ice Capades from 1966-1971, but before that spent a summer training in Lake Placid.

Again, thanks!

We arrived last night. The hotel is ok, but Placid is still very difficult for disabled people to cope with. The Novice Fd is on at 9 or so, and I hope we will get our act together in time to catch. The rest of the day is a dizzying array of short dance competitions, Junior International, Senior International, Junior A group, Junior B group, Seniors, and.Youth Olympic Games qualifiers. One has to eat some time, so we are planning to go during the YOG session. All the events we are interested in are in the 1980 Herb Brooks rink.

The weather yesterday was in the 90's, and that's predicted for today as well-great time to spend in an ice rink.

From a recent interview with News Review back home

We understand that you two are particularly excited about your music selections for this season. What can you tell us.
“Daniel” - As you’ll see, Glass Slippers are so Back. Isabella & Ilya are dancing to the new Cinderella Movie and Danielle and I are dancing to the Rodgers and Hammerstein version.

“Danielle” – Daniel and I are very excited about dancing our Short to a medley written by Richard Rodgers in 1957 for CBS Television. It was performed “live” in front of 117 million viewers, on CBS TV, on the evening of March 31, 1957 (one of the largest television audiences of all-time). They say the streets in New York City were empty of cars that evening. The star of the live television broadcast was Julie Andrews, and she was also starring, on Broadway, in another Cinderella Story, called “My Fair Lady”.

"Daniel” – We are dancing to Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella”. On the “Light Side”, the musical score, gets your feet tapping, gets your emotions going, and is absolutely perfect for the beautiful, fun-loving Ravensburger Waltz.”

“Danielle” - My favorite line from the play, and is when Edie Adams (the Fairy Godmother) tells Ella “Now Go. Go to the ball in the name of every girl who has ever wished to go to a ball in a beautiful dress. In the name of every girl who has ever wanted to change the world that she lived in. Now go, go with the promise of possibility.” The Hammerstein Foundation sent us the original Television recording and we’re watched it over and over. We love our short dance.

Much better speed and knee action than previous teams. Cute little under the arm twizzle by Carolime-very 1980's.
Class of the field so far.
