The best from this is that we might have chance to see young skaters with SS as Patrick in the future! The tradition isn't lost! :hb:

Doesn´t Patrick train in Detroit?

Is he moving? Because I feel that at this moment with Patrick going back to competitive skating, I think they are only using his image to promove the facilities...

The Club is set to open in late 2016.

Sure Patrick is in the promoting role. He will serve as the Advisory Director of Skating Operations while Joanne McLeod will provide high performance training. Certainly Patrick will be more involved after his competitive career since he has long expressed a desire to build a holistic skating training centre. As well, for years now he has conducted skating clinics for young skaters at various locations. This opportunity is in congruence with his dream and has not come about without his mental and emotional investments.

:yay: Will he be giving BOrser a run for his money in a 5-10 years time?

how can having Joanne McLeod providing high performance training be wise. She has a horrible track record and whether it is her fault or not her skaters while she is coaching them often underachieve and horrific demises - fade away or whatever. Mira Leung, Emanual Sandhu. If they leave her that seems to be the skaters hope. For some reason whether it is her fault or not, axel jumps are problems with her skater.

It's just clicked now, is Joanne Kevin Reynold's coach?
In any case, the school hasn't even been built, so doom and gloom are premature IMO.

The problem is if Joanne McLeod is the 'High Performance Coach' at this school, she will never allow another coach near any of the elite skaters who train at this school but will insist on training the best skaters herself, much to the detriment of those skaters. They will never learn proper axel technique, which will keep them from reaching their true potential.

They may hope to poach Orser somewhere down the line? (pure speculation)

I knew McCleod would induce some discussions. :) She, of course, is the go to coach in BC.

Patrick's idea of ideal training is a holistic approach including health, nutrition and off ice training. I of course hope that mental development and training will be accorded appropriate importance, just as BOrser has done. Therefore, any coach would be part of a team of specialists. I'm extremely interested to see if the holistic principle will be realized.

Yeah, based on her track record, I would stay as far away from Joanne McLeod as possible.

A better use of an elite skater's image than, say, to promote sports drinks or cosmetics, IMO...
