For public? Where from? I don't see anything on ticket sites...Tickets can be bought now
Looks like only the most expensive "gold" tickets are on sale for now.
Aha. So that's why we can't select them on the map...You can also buy category 1 and category 2, but these are open seating (unlike last year!)

That is the side the judges were on last year. The last two TEB competitions at least, judge-side tickets were not sold to the public (you had to be a VIP, member of a French skating club etc to get those seats -_-). And it looks like the same this year. Also, what is the area labelled PMR? Is that where the judges are?
Again, this is the same as at least the last couple of years - yes, it really is that cheap! I don't know why. Maybe Friday afternoons are difficult for French people, or just not a popular time, or they have little interest in the short programs? Finally, do we have an idea of what the schedule is going to be yet? I'm just curious as to why Friday's tickets are so cheap
See Solene's post above - you can buy the Category 1 and 2 tickets now, as well as the "gold" ones.Just wanted to buy some tix also but only for the Friday sessions (price is the same as last year) as for Saturday and Sunday only the most expensive ones are available at this moment, but I stopped as the website says to pick them up in some kind of shop. Hopefully that will change to homeprint asap. Francebillet is the seller where Ticketmaster France was last year the seller and maybe they have different ways of selling tix.
There is a map showing the sales outlets on the francebillet.com site - At the bottom of most pages, are a load of links. One is "Points de retraits" or "Sales outlets". Click on it and zoom into the map where Bordeaux is in south-west corner of France. Nearest shop to the rink is:I live in Holland so picking up tix is over there. what is the nearest store from the venue? my hotel is also very near Patinoire Mediadeck. looking forward to my second Bordeaux visit.
Last year, it was on the top level of the arena and the skaters had to take the lift to get there. You couldn't even see it from the seats in the lower parts of the arena. Looking at this year's seating map, it was the area at the top. (map is the other way up to last year!).Does anyone know where the Kiss & Cry will be?? Or where it was last year?? Looking at the map, above or below??
Aha. So that's why we can't select them on the map...
I wonder what is the thinking behind that?
Maybe because last year, stewards insisted on escorting everybody to their allocated seats. I've never seen this anywhere else and I don't know why they did it... do people routinely try to sit in other people's seats, start fighting over them and stuff?! Anyway, this resulted in queues of people still waiting to be seated, for some time after competitions had already started... but I guess that needn't happen again if there are half as many tickets with seat numbers...?
There is an Ibis hotel about 350m down the road from the rink, we stayed there last year. Can anybody recommend a hotel near the rink? Last year, we stayed at a small boutique hotel in the centre of town but this year we want something closer to the arena. Thank you!
Haha! Perhaps that explains it then :-DWe actually witnessed this last year at TEB. Two women kept trying to poach better seats and security had to escort them to their assigned seats (twice). After the second time, they stopped trying as they knew they were being watched. Also saw an argument between people who had gone to the washroom and returned to find their allocated seats taken by people who thought they had left. Fun times!
