Meoima thanks for posting this - it's so wonderful! I'm sorry to say that every time I watch Javi skate his Barbiere program I compare him to this performance by Hermann Prey - and Prey always wins.

There are so many wonderful singers, but I think Wunderlich is maybe my favorite of all tenors....I guess I've been listening to opera a lot lately, because I have a few more loves to share:

I also love Callas. Everything Callas. When I was in college I disliked her voice. I was like "Callas voice is like an over-dated hamburger". But with age I love her more and more. :love:

I'm the same and I think that's the case with a lot of people with Maria Callas. Her voice is an acquired taste.

I don't consider myself an opera buff, but there are certain operas I really like. As a kid, I would listen to the Met radio broadcasts every Saturday afternoon along with my mom.

I tend to prefer the "happier" operas. The Barber of Seville, The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute (my favorite opera of all). I do love the music of Carmen.

I am also a fan of the Gilbert & Sullivan operettas!

OPERA LOVERS ASSEMBLE!!! YEEAAAHHH!!

I like all italian and french operas, and german ones by Mozart. My favourite composer is Verdi but some of my favourite music come from Rossini (his music is always joyful!) And like some of you I am still getting into Wagner, I watched the Ring cycle on Met on Demand and to be honest, I don't know how to describe my feeling but I just "don't get it", it's like never ending......but maybe i will like it when I'm older?

My favourite singer is Joan Sutherland. I also like others as well! My favourite opera is Un ballo in Maschera.
