Here is the thread where you can make your predictions for the World Championships.

Please note that since the World Championships are the most prestigious competition of the year, we are running revised rules for this round. For more information, please see the original post of the Rules thread.

Entries/Results Page:
http://www.isuresults.com/results/season1516/wc2016/

The competitions start on 30[SUP]th[/SUP] March 2016 at 10:45 EDT (15:45 BST / 14:45 GMT) with the Short Dance.

So, the target time to get your predictions in is 1 hour before that, i.e. 09:45 EDT (14:45 BST / 13:45 GMT)

But, we will be accepting predictions for each category right up to the start of that category's Short Programme.

If you need any help working out what time this is where you are, here is the Time Converter that Mrs. P has been very kindly directing us to the past couple of years.

GAHHH I have to think about it!

I am basing my predictions on my intuition, a bit of logic and the tiniest bit of personal preference. I'll be very wrong by the end of the competition  Hopefully, we'll get to see a few surprises, though not connected to any injuries.

woot, front row this time - a placeholder obviously for now, because stuff in various form could happen and singles are tough for me to sort (no shocker there...)

shoutout for Matmuh about breaking 3.000 posts there :cheer: - a truly activist regarding 'post long, post often' quote:clapper:

ETA - finally made through Easter time and it's time for some pizzas , have to say that singles are always tough for me, but this year pairs and ice dance are equally complicated to predict. So sad about Julianne and Charlie, Yuko and Alexander and Yu/Jin, devastated for Ekaterina and Dimitry (it will be very dull feeling not to see Anna Karenina FD on Thursday, my favourite FD this season...).

Here we go:

LADIES
a general headcase for me to predict, almost sure Medvedeva will take the title with uber-inflated scores, totally unjustified especially in PCS, hoping for a miracle that Mao will take the title back with Satoko and Elena on the podium, fingers crossed for Ashley, Gracie and Mirai - but after once again disappointing 4CC from Gracie I seriously consider not including her in my predictions, but otoh her Skate America outing was pretty successful, so maybe at home, will be back tomorrow probably...:

1. Evgenia MEDVEDEVA (ugh...)
2. Satoko MIYAHARA
3. Mao ASADA
4. Elena RADIONOVA
5. Ashley WAGNER
6. Gracie GOLD
7. Anna POGORILAYA

MEN
I think it will be a battle between Big 3 in podium placements and the rest could evolve in either way...all fingers crossed for Denis and Shoma - wish Shoma would podium, it's not impossible, but it will be tight. I know, many will beat me, but my secret wish is Javier defending the title - he's got 2 amazing programs, confidence and good level of consistency, but still think that Yuzuru will win this...overall I'm preparing for bloodbath:devil::

1. Yuzuru HANYU
2. Javier FERNANDEZ
3. Shoma UNO
4. Patrick CHAN
5. Boyang JIN
6. Denis TEN
7. Adam RIPPON

PAIRS
only one thing will give me joy - Diva Sassy Queen Sui and Her Knight Han winning this whole thing, another would be Yuko and Alexander winning, but won't happen...anyway - Volosozhar/Trankov or Stolbova/Klimov will win by massive PCS overcook even if all three pairs will go clean which is a shame, but at least I'm trying to stay positive for now and :ghug: heavily for Sui/Han:

1. Wenjing SUI / Cong HAN
2. Ksenia STOLBOVA / Fedor KLIMOV
3. Tatiana VOLOSOZHAR / Maxim TRANKOV
4. Meagan DUHAMEL / Eric RADFORD
5. Aliona SAVCHENKO / Bruno MASSOT
6. Alexa SCIMECA / Chris KNIERIM
7. Evgenia TARASOVA / Vladimir MOROZOV

ICE DANCE
most unpredictable competition since I don't know - top 5 could be in any order if some will have mistakes, really hard to predict. But regardless of it all - my money goes on Gabriella and Guillaume defending the title, I have no single doubt about it, still love Shibutanis' progress, opening themselves for new approach, but their FD still lacks something, especially comparing it to Frenchies' FD. But my biggest hope is for Kaitlyn and Andrew - stay strong, focused and determined and fight for that title! Another wishes are for Piper and Paul to have strong outing, one of my fave FD this season for sure, for strong and memorable debut for Elisabeth and Xavier - no more dress malfunctions! and for Madison and Zach - really hope they'll upset overhyped Chock/Bates and I'm not ashamed of that:

1. Gabriella PAPADAKIS / Guillaume CIZERON
2. Kaitlyn WEAVER / Andrew POJE
3. Maia SHIBUTANI / Alex SHIBUTANI
4. Madison CHOCK / Evan BATES
5. Anna CAPPELLINI / Luca LANOTTE
6. Madison HUBBELL / Zachary DONOHUE
7. Victoria SINITSINA / Nikita KATSALAPOV

This is going to be a tough one. But I'll give it a shot this year.

Men:
1. Yuzuru Hanyu
2. Javier Fernandez
3. Patrick Chan
4. Boyang Jin
5. Denis Ten
6. Shoma Uno
7. Max Aaron

I really want to put two American in the spots to equal 13, but I sadly think it'll be less likely.

Ladies:

1. Evgenia Medvedeva
2. Satoko Miyahara
3. Ashley Wagner
4. Elena Radionova
5. Gracie Gold
6. Mao Asada
7. Polina Edmunds
8. Rika Hongo
9. Anna Pogorilaya
10. Alaine Chartrand (But maybe I'm wrong)

I really want Ashely to finally medal. If she skates like how she did her SP at Skate Canada and her FP like at the GPF, she's in good contention.

Pairs: Okay this is where I start to not go well.

1. Volosozhar/Trankov
2. Stolbova/Klimov
3. Duhamel/Radford
4. Sui/Han
5. Savchenko/Massot
6. Scimeca/Knierim.
7. Kayne/O'Shea (As huge wildcards)

Ice dance:

1. Shibutani/Shibutani
2. Papadakis/Cizeron
3. Chock/Bates
4. Weaver/Poje
5. Sinitstina/Kastalapov
6. Gilles/Poirier

This is the first time where I think it COULD any way for any discipline. This is going to be very interesting.

6. Tatiana VOLOSOZHAR / Maxim TRANKOV
7. Evgenia TARASOVA / Vladimir MOROZOV
8. Cheng PENG / Hao ZHANG

NOTE: I am not expecting Ksenia STOLBOVA / Fedor KLIMOV to complete competing at the event.

Edit: I don't care how much i know it is not going to happen, but F it I am editing Mirai for Gold now that she is there!

Edit three... my cat convinced me to be more realistic about pairs and hedge my bets.

Edit four. I tweaked the men... but now i am wondering about Russia's chance for three spots

Edit Five...sorry Russia but I think three spots is unlikely. I think the draw order was kind to the USA guys but unkind to the Russian guys. Also practice reports for them has been encouraging.
