It was a very good photo spread! My daughter was very interested in seeing different bodies and their strength/muscles, she said skaters have beautiful healthy bodies. Even some of the less "built" upper bodies have incredible legs. Seeing variety of people in a photo spread is pretty cool. I really hope though, that they didn't touch up beyond what was necessary for publication.

I dont think there was lots of touchup. Look at the pics of skaters in street casual clothing. I liked the pics of Chris and Alexa, Haven and Brandon, and Marissa and Mervin. The fun pic of Jason Brown holding Carolina Kostner was cool too. Without mentioning any names or sports they participate in, I like the fact that while you have to be physically fit for sure in figure skating, and have muscles in the right place depending on your skating disipline, you dont need muscles that grotesquely distort the body so much that the women loose their femininity and the men look like characutures of comic book heros.

My daughter's double axel came much faster after she added weights to her work out. That core and upper body strength really do help. The legs come naturally with ice, the upper body is not as easy.
