Well Astakhova/Rogonov only had one mistake with the fall on the 3Lutz. Denney/Frazier had two. Haven only did 2salchow and she stumbled on her spin. Their sbs spins must have received low level (maybe invalid element) and negative GOEs.
Overall A/R program was better than D/F.

It's not a complete departure in term of choreography, but different enough to be effective.
I think this kind of program is not rewarded enough. People don't come up with contemporary programs because why bother? Thanks Carolina for bringing something else to the table. Your return is much welcome.

So agree with you. LOVE seeing her back and it looks like she might make a very legitimate comeback. She was a little rough around the edges here, but that doesn't surprise me. I appreciate the new spin positions she found here and the music is a bold choice that really helps her stand apart from the girls. You can tell she's a mature woman.

The packaging actually reminds me a lot of In The Middle Somewhat Elevated by William Forsythe. A real game changer in contemporary ballet:

Funny you should post a video of Sylvie, I was just thinking about how much Caro reminds me of her- their lines are just crazy.

Anywho, thanks to everyone posting videos! :thank:

I love that ballet, and I absolutely ADORE this program of Carolina's. I can hardly wait to watch it over... and over... and over.

D/f had two errors actually three because his jump was also effected by her pop. Then the spin I hope she is not hurt actually she looked really off. Other team A/R: One error by the number 2 team so easily and mathematically.

It is technical and mathematical so disagree on style makes sense but to disagree that they had more errors 3 vs 1 is not possible given it is technical and viewed so truth. The skaters know it and it is why they were upset it makes sense. They will get stronger no athlete wants to be rewarded for doing something they did NOT do.

I appreciate your reply, but I think overall, the ISU scoring system is riggable, if that's a word, lol. If they wanted to, they could have given higher points to D/F say, giving them a plus GOE here and there, for example. That's how they prop up #1 or #2 skaters from any discipline who perform badly in a competition.

For example, I watched Skate Canada pairs competition, and I couldn't understand why or how the Canadian pair got first place overall when they made so many mistakes :)

correction: It was actually the number 2 canadian team that made a lot of mistakes in their long program and got 3rd place overall, and beat the number 4 team overall, which I thought should have been third.

Does anyone understand Denis Ten? I mean.. he's in 7th here. It's so confusing.

Glad that Samohin had a good skate with his Tom Jones Delilah program! It's my guilty pleasure.

Good for Brendan Kerry. You go get them Aussie Pirate in the long!

I mean... I think he's just being Denis at this point in December(decent but empty skate in france notwithstanding). I want to know what the heck happened with Vincent. Is he injured?
