Isn't he at a JGP Event right now. He looks like the skater who just won the SP in Italy. Is that him? He looked fantastic during his program and he has wonderful control of his long limbs.

OMG! the original video has 910 thousands views ! I can't believe! On Plushenko's Insta it has 273 thousands! We can never know what will be very popular!

Adorable.........:thank: I wish people who have never seen Plushy in person could see him skate. He was such a showman. He was also very humble and sweet which is why I think he is still so popular everywhere he go's. I don't know him but, you can tell he has a good heart by the way he treats the people around him. I saw him 18 years ago in Helsinki Finland when was just a thin, blonde boy from Russia who was kind of in the shadow of Yags.....Look at him now....:bow:

In Helsinki he was only 16 y.o! But he won silver and he was the leader after the short program!

So could you see this performance? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enSd_vHTR40 he was a prodigy.. But you could see him in Vancouver WCH! You are much lucky I couldn't see him live in competitions only on shows....

He posted it yesterday https://www.instagram.com/p/BaMs1tHlhsI/ - After 11 year, I am super exited be back to USA, will skate in New York CIty, see you soon )

Whoever does the choreography for Plushenko's skaters needs to be either replaced, or another person brought in. It was super obvious today, and from some of the earlier videos, it's the 'old' way of skating. That won't pass today, not at the highest of levels.

He needs to think really well about this because skaters get used to things young. Get another choreographer Plushy, you need it.

Samoilov has skated his last season programs. Plush has one of the best choreographers in the world. And it wasn't pretty when you wished Samoilov to bomb previously. He managed to grab silver with 211 while you wished a spot for Rukhin.

Rukhin earned his 2nd assignment fair and square and was pushed out for Samoilov based on Plushy's name who asked for it. As I said there, they should have tested him in Poland, not this way. Yeah, I am mightily glad Samoilov did what he always does. He managed a silver in a very weak field. I am sure RusFed is thrilled with that mess.

As for the choreographer, good, that's good to hear because the programs I saw were old in style and it wouldn't do him any favors, or his skaters. Skating has moved on, he seems to have excellent facilities and some very talented kids (the girl I saw was very good) but they need new programs or they simply won't get anywhere. Especially in the ladies field that is insanely strong in Russia.

If it was based on a famous coach name it would be Samoilov in Brisbane and win a gold and then qualified to JGPF. But Plush isn't a famous coach yet so Vladimir got only 1 event. It's Eteri who is famous so her student was at 1st event. Rukhin was 3nd in a weak field despite his sp was a real mess. He recieved 197.92 with inflated home judging and can't produsr big elements.

I actually did see Plushy in Vancouver in 2001 but, the first time I saw Plushy was in 1999 and I had no idea who he was. I was there to see Maria Butyrskaya and I didn't have tickets to see the men. I saw Plushy back stage at the Gala. He was walking with Anton Sikharulidze and other team members. I didn't really follow Plushy's career until 2000. However, it was at World in 2001 where I got to see him close up. A group of fans followed him to the dressing rooms and he stopped to sign autographs for fans. He was very nice and signed a ton things for fans until his coach pulled him away. They need to give Plushy more close ups.....He has beautiful blues eyes....

How would you know that? I definitely don't think it's true. Samoilov got this assignment after winning Open Moscow, in the same way as Alena K. got her events... And while Alena had the chance to do 2 events, Samoilov hadn't. I think he did his job ok. I don't know if the plan of the Fed was to block one of the Americans on the way to the final and to help Makar in this way, but it worked out pretty well. With Rukhin this wouldn't have happened. So good strategy (if any)

Kostornaya got her event in Poland, not the last event. But oh hey, if you all think what happened to Rhukin on account of Samoilov is fair, then I am sure you won't mind and actually want such fairness as Rhukin experienced on Plushenko's students. Hey it's all fair so let them have it
though not really because that is no fun at all.

That's a fair point. I hope he changes with Serafima quickly though as she is competing, new school or not; it takes a while to get used to the new requirements that modern programs are demanding and she is good. Who is the choreographer, by name? If he/she is that good, then hopefully they can build around old layouts for her to aid her in the transition.

Think logically and forget who is your favorite..if you are the Rus Fed you have a 13.y.o. boy who didn't receive too high scores in his competition.. And there is a 18 y.o skater who is talented but he was a problematic guy ( his nerves, he was injured on his back) but he won a local competition and he has quads. He has not too much experiences in international competitions yet and he has no spot. Wich skater do you choose? I don't know the Russian junior men deeply is there any other skater who has quads but he didn't receive a spot on the JGP? I'm sure same thing would happened if Vlad has any other coach. But if Plush can use his influent for his students that is a good thing. This is what every coach needs to do and the coaches usually do it.
