Thanks :) I didn't know that!

In an interview shortly before Euros, Mishin said that Caro had recovered both lutz & flip, but they weren't quite as good as they wanted them to be yet. That was a while ago, so I'd imagine Caro has made progress since. We'll see.

Does anyone in the ladies field at Worlds do a -3Lo combo? Otherwise, I'm also really looking forward to a good 3Lz-3T!

I have a question, as I am not very good with everyone's BV. Anna doesn't really have the favors of the judges, so if she and Kaetlyn Osmond go clean, I'm pretty sure Kaetlyn would beat her.
Do Karen Chen and Mai Mihara have a BV that could push them above Anna?

I really liked her SP the first time I saw it, but after repeat viewings it fell flat for me because I started to really notice all the empty choreography and two footed skating. The sass captured my interest the first time around but after that it started to feel cheesy.

Ashley recently talked (in a teleconference) about how she revamped her program going into Worlds! Changed the choreo, step sequence, and added more transitions! I'm excited to see what she has done.

"My short program has been re-choreographed so it is less of an exhibition program and there are more transitions, and I did the exact same thing with the long program.
...
"Not really any feedback in particular. One thing that I had heard about the short program was that there was too much two-foot skating so I wanted it to look more like its own competitive program. After nationals Jeff (Buttle) came out to see me and we completely redid the footwork as well as the middle section going into the triple loop just so there are more transitions and less two foot skating."

good news... I like to see Caro on the podium and with lutz she can make it happen :yahoo:

At Nordics, beginning of March, she did a 3f3T in SP, which was not perfect, and she improved in the spins.
In the FP she did a 3T3T and a sequence 2A3T2T, in general she skated better than at Euros. In a photo she recently posted on her FB page, she seemed to be trying the Lutz. So we will see.
The big pro for Caro this year, is that she's not expected to win, or even being on the podium. If she manages to keep calm, confident and simply happy to be again in the competition, she can skate well, quite well. Others must win and earn spots
for their Nations, Caro (unfortunately for us) not.

It is a strange concept...as I don't think we've seen this kind of dominance in sometime. Even with Yuna Kim, there was always Mao Asada to shake things up -- not mention a mix of players for the bronze. And even Michelle Kwan didn't win everything either internationally -- her long tenure is what allowed her to rack up those World titles. and she only won back-to-back titles once

I was going to even say Katarina Witt in the late 80s could be an example, but even then you had the likes of Debi Thomas playing spoiler. This streak of winning, in my opinion is pretty unheard of in Ladies, IMO.

Not in recent history anyway. Going way back in time, skaters like Sonja Henie dominated to the tune of 10 World titles and 3 Olympic ladies titles in a row. Of course, Henie didn't have to worry about jumps. Not even single jumps I think.

She attempted, but after a flawed landing on 3F she actually did 3F+2T.

and a sequence 2A3T2T
No, she did 2A+1Lo+3S combinaton.

Caro goes to Worlds to do her best or even more if possible, as any other skater.

I know she is not young like others so I won't expect her to win
but I like to watch her, she works hard to came back and respect her for it and she work with mishin which looks like not a easy thing
why not get a medal? anything can happen...

I expect Maria Sotskova to skate two clean programs (ok ... maybe with 2, 3 URs across event). That Free Skate at the Europeans was a bad day in office, she's known for her remarkable consistency since junior days. What result it can bring? That is a mistery, everything between 3rd to 6th is as much likely in my opinion.

No, neither of them really do. In the SP Mai could move slightly ahead in BV if she got her step sequence to level 4, but she's been hitting level 3 all season. She does have a more difficult solo jump (3F versus Anna's 3L) but the difference in base value isn't much between a flip and a loop. Karen has the same SP content as Anna but she doesn't always max her levels either which leaves points on the table.

Anna usually earns all level 4s on her non-jump elements which helps, plus she has a sizable lead in PCS over both Karen and Mai. Even if those two could best her by a bit in TES the PCS gap would be too wide for them to catch her.

Thank you for your answer! I'm at a stage where I have no idea about levels other than the number of turns in a spin, so I always forget about them.

I have posted this in a few threads, but I figured this would be good to add to this conversation, since I've seen some posts about her "2 foot skating"

Here is Ashley training her short program on 3/22/17

3-3 looking solid there. Let's hope it's like that in competition!

Above is Ashley's FS run-through from today in Helsinki. Mostly marking, some jumps. Looking solid, save for the one fall.
