Vincent Zhou did Casablance this season - pretty hard to follow up on Browning. I think Javi could do that type of program - the other top men either don't have the look or the maturity for it.

I realize you said you did this quickly, but I think you made some great choices.

I especially agree with Hanyu's Parisienne Walkways and Yagudin's Winter SP. As someone mentioned, the step sequence alone from Winter  It's funny because Parisienne Walkways isn't usually mentioned when someone lists a favorite Hanyu program--and I think it's very different from much of his work--but I found his performance of it, particularly at the 2014 Olympics, mesmerizing. (And I don't even care for the song!

And a big yes to your Pairs LP choices! So happy to see someone mention Savchenko / Szolkowy's Pina. I just loved that program and thought it was brilliant. And very much agree with your mention of Kavaguti / Smirnov's Manfred Symphony. Although I hope it IS appreciated in years to come.

For Ice Dance OD, the first programs that popped into my head are Davis / White's Bollywood and Ilinykh / Zhiganshin's Carmen.

Bollywood was an OD, Carmen was a SD was it not?

Yes, I was pretty disappointed when Zhou skated to Casablanca. Kurt owns that music and no one will ever skate it like he did.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Sale and Pelletier's Love Story! With the chemistry that was then flying back and forth between them I thought that was almost a perfect program.

Patrick Chan's Aranguez!
Michelle Kwan's East of Eden
Gordeev and Grinkov - pretty much any program they ever did

Yes, I was thinking memorable "short program" dances in general, but you're correct, of course.

But getting back to the intent of the OP and Andromache, I do find both programs quite memorable.

Another favorite (and I mention this one in honor of Ic3Rabbit :)), Jeremy Abbott's SP to Lillies of the Valley from Pina. I absolutely loved that program and felt that Robin Cousin's choreography fit Jeremy very well.

I agree that Kurt owns "Casablanca," but I still enjoyed Vincent's performance of it. One of the first programs we saw skated by Ross Miner (@ a summer comp - he was a junior @ the time) was "Casablanca," and we were quite impressed with him even back then.

Could be related to the controversy in 2002 or that a lot of people hated that program (including many fans of Sale/Pelletier) - I would compare it to Medvedeva's short program this past season - the skipping rope for Medvedeva and the snow ball fight from Sale/Pelletier - it just wasn't everyone cup of tea.

And as for pairs... I think, Belousova/ Protopopov are unequalled. It`s beatiful and magic and you don`t need any difficult lifts and jumps while watching them.

Alexei Yagudin's Winter (I found this the most in the list...)

Yes, indeed. :thank:
As for me, I think I should see more videos with Browning and Takahashi (at least). Yet... it is so hard to stop watching Yagudin, especially when I don't know which videos of other skaters are more interesting than the others... So I'm really grateful for all the links in this thread. It would be even not fair to speak here about other my favourite skaters, because I haven't seen much, actually (or I don't remember much)...

I almost can't choose my favourite program between "Winter" and "Racing", even though "Racing" isn't the Olympic program.
"Racing" (SP, dedicated to "Formula 1")
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mfv3oCrTMzY

As for ice shows, Yagudin is the first one who decided to unite a skating show with aerial gymnastics, when Tarasova asked him to invent something unusual. He watched a video with Cirque du Soleil, and decided to learn something. He signed a document saying, that he is the only one who is guilty, if he falls down.
