Well, lets start:
All those single skaters except Anna have family connections with the countries to which they switched.
Anna could not get the citizenship and could not participate in olympics. Also, I suppose she could only skate for switzerland because her family lived there (i suppose based on interviews) and actually could afford to pay for her living, studying and training in switzerland. She said in an interview:
"My Dad was abroad most of the time, working, and it was really hard for me because we didn't see each other. I lived in Moscow, with my parents coming and going so I rarely saw them. So we decided it wouldn't work like that, our family needed to be together."
Which means her father likely worked there or something like that.

Anna's family lived in Switzerland for some time IFRC her brother was at boarding school there and the family decided to move to be near him. Anna considered staying there after her family left but in the end returned to Moscow.

Actually you are wrong here - the principle of jus sanguinis applies -anyone who can prove that his parents or grandparents lived in Estonian Republic prior to 1940 can get a citizenship but those who were born in Estonia to non native parents has to go through a naturalisation to become a citizen. So if lets say Sima had a grandmother who lived in pre-war Estonia she could easily get a citizenship and she would not even need to live in the country

Oh, thanks for the correction! I had no idea - I used Estonia as pure example, I didn't research it properly, so I'm guilty of fake news  But my point still stands, getting citizenship without any prior connection to the desired country isn't easy. Skaters like Ivan Righini or Polina Shelepen are exeptions.

They arent =)
Righini's mom maiden name was Righini, so she very likely has some strong connection to italy.
Polina Shelepen has jewish heritage, so connection to Israel.

No, I don't think encouraging teenage marriage to gamble on a pipe dream is ever a good idea. I would rather just see Sima stay in Russia and work on improving her skating. As mentioned before, there are other problems that come with skating for a small federation. It's not just about paying for training, but having access to all the different specialists that one needs to be competitive. Misha Ge explained this very well in one of his recent interviews.

It was not a serious suggestion

Nikol Gosviani tried it, so it's not without precedent. And it didn't exactly boost her career.

The question is how serious Gosviani was with wanting to compete in the first place. I noticed that they practice some show pair elements, so maybe she decided not to bother with trying to compete in singles. You have no information whether it was a failed attempt, or whether her goals just changed because they found out that skating together is much more fun and they can earn some money. I don't think she is an example of someone who tried and it didn't work out; we have too little information about her motivations and about the reasons behind her decisions.

Never mind country switching, Sima's main problem seems to be that her family is on the poorer side and it would be impossible for her family to foot all the bills. The moment Sima can't get any funding from the federation I think will be the moment she quits for good. Rukavisin's group didn't do too hot last season but if Leonova can stay Sima can too.

Will Liza nugumanova be the big junior to watch for next season? I'm worried that her flexibility will hurt her jumps☹️. It hurts so many.
Or maybe it'll be someone else we haven't even heard of. I'm hoping the best for "those who seem in jeopardy." Like Fedichkina.😔

I'm not too worried about her jumps since she is with Mishin. But she does seem inconsistent.

Tsurskaya'a lack of momentum is the biggest thing hurting her right now. She missed a lot of the season and ended it on a low at Junior Worlds. I think if she is to make the team she'll have to build up some momentum this fall. Sotskova and Pogo have momentum from this season where they had good results, despite not skating very well at Worlds. I think it will be easier for either one of those girls to make the team than it will be for Tsurskaya.
