Who do you think will get pre Olympic commercials, sponsorship and or attention?

I am going to stick with the US mainly.

The Shibs are very commercial, successful and attractive.
Chock and Bates may get some.
Ashley Wagner will get attention as the most known US lady.
Nathan Chen will be at the top of the list for US men.
Hopefully, someone will pick up Jason, his personality should help sell something.
Hoping the Kirneims will get some attention too.

Virtue/Moire will get attention

... Nathan Chen will be at the top of the list for US men. ...

Nathan already was chosen by Coca-Cola as a member of its "four-pack" for the 2018 Games.

Very cool no matter how you look at it.

And especially so b/c the other three athletes all competed at the 2014 Games.
Plus Amy Purdy has a medal from Sochi, and Elana Meyers Taylor has medals both from 2010 Vancouver and from Sochi.

for SK
Jun-hwan for men (sorry Jinseo and Junehyoung)
Soyoun, Dabin and maybe Nahyun for ladies
not too sure about Min/Gamelin and the pairs situation

Pretty sure SK media will also start rallying for Beijing with Eunsoo and etc, especially with Yoo Young debuting in JGP this fall. Kinda unrelated but it's the biggest one: Yuna will be everywhere because she's the poster child of PC Olympics plus I'm pretty sure they're gonna bug her about what she thinks about what's happening with the figure skating.

Japan: anyone except their ice dancers and pairs. We may get like a 10-min video about their training but I'm pretty sure they would rather focus on their singles success.

Can't wait to see Cha Jun-hwan in Olympic commicial
He will be the only Korean for 2017 men's Grand Prix assignments, so kind of make prefect sense to keep investing in him for Olympic.
Not sure if they are going to get Yuna to be commentator for Olympic :luv17:

In Canada, Tessa and Scott will get the most attention as one of Canada's best gold medal chances, Kaetlyn and Gabby will probably get some since they both have World medals this year, Patrick is very well known, so him too. With no NHL players at the Olympics this year, there might be more emphasis on Canadian figure skaters, since we're expected to win multiple medals (at least team and ice dance)

Tessa is an Adidas Canada ambassador, so I'm sure they'll have something with her. And she and Scott did an ad for an Acura West dealership in London this summer, but I don't know when that's airing and it's probably only local. It looks cool though: https://www.instagram.com/p/BT15CMwlpRO/?taken-by=tessavirtue17&hl=en

I would expect the big ones will be skaters from Japan like Hanyu, Satoko and Mai and Shoma. (singles). Skating is huge in Japan. The Canadians will get some coverage but their market is so small but I expect Virtue and Moir, Chan, Duhamel and Radford, Gabby and Kaetlyn to get some coverage but not the big bucks. I will be interested to see if Jason is used since he isn't a sure bet in qualifying for the olympics well that may have changed since there are three spots. I expect Ashley and Nathan. i wonder about the Shib sibs jsut how marketable they are. Sui and Han and boyang in China one would think would be worth lots. Maybe Fernandez in Spain, Carolina in Italy and P/C in France. Evgenia and Anna in Russia; maybe some Australian?

Figure Skating is not too popular in Australia. Brendan Kerry is the first one to get his spot in 2018 Winter Olympic, so maybe him.
SBS Australia (TV channel) has been following Harley Windsor & Ekaterina Alexandrovskaya closely, they won gold in the 2017 world junior championship (pair), they still haven't confirmed their spot in 2018 Winter Olympic, we will know by September. But I think they might still be a bit too new for the Australian public and sponsors.

United Air's super hero commercial starring Nathan Chen among other US winter Olympians was LOL!
Last Olympics' United commercial was far better.

I was reading some report and Nathan is not that identifiable YET! But after he wins the OGM things will change. But remember men's skating champions generally not as valued unless in Japan or overseas. Advertisers do see them as highly prized in America despite the big bucks for commericialism. There is only so much demand for a Vera Wang jumpsuit with a few stripes on it I guess.

Not an olympian sadly, but Isabelle Olsson(SWE) is spinning and sitting in a sofa watching herself in a commercial for ’comhem’ in Swedish TV. Good for her, so sad she had to retire due to a long troubling foot injury.
