Does anyone know, why Holly Harris isn´t competing?

Does Aurora have a shot at the medals?

Trusova has some very beautiful jumps. She should be very close to a 3A as well, and her Lutz is wonderful. I do think that Shcherbakova's quad is a little bit better though, but that of course could have changed during the summer(With the injury to Shcherbakova and all).

Gulyakova should also have a 3A. It'd be pretty exciting if everyone went for their most difficult jumps right in the first competition.

she won't jump 3a in her 1st JGP as she said.
She will try to add it later.

And I think this will be a smart move. What they both need is to earn gold and silver to build the foundation for getting into JGPF. And with the field they are facing they don't have to risk. Moreover, going for difficult jumps may mean the overall meltdown in the free program. And failing the podium will be a costly mistake with the current Russian junior line-up. JGPF, Russian Nationals, and JWC if they get into the team will be quite a different story. But not now. Trusova should be very self-confident to go for 4S.

So, if I want to watch the ladies sp, and I live in Michigan, I have to stay up until midnight, when it starts ?

Yup...I suggest you take a long nap like 3hrs beforehand...I've done that a few times when events were in Japan that I "couldn't" miss:)

I just spent the weekend in Ann Arbor. I love Michigan!!

So it will start Thursday at 2 pm in Brisbane, and that means Wednesday at 12 am for Eastern Time. I thought it must be 11 pm, but with the summer time it gets worse.

I've seen videos of Trusova and if she pulls out a quad I don't think she can be beaten. I haven't seen anything from Gulyakova yet so I'm not sure what to expect. But I know if she's made it to the JGP she's got something going for her. I don't believe I've seen anything of Takino either so I'm excited to see who Japan has waiting in the wings.

I like Kaitlyn for the US but I'm keeping my eye on Ting Cui. I've seen videos of her and she looks promising.

I love the JGP! I really enjoy seeing the new talent and watching them progress. Following a skater's careeer from fresh on the scene JGP baby to newbie senior to world and Olympic medalist is so much fun as a fan. :)

gulyakova has a nice big jumps and pretty much nothing else. she had awful programs last season and she is not very consistent also. i don't see her at international level getting pcss as high as in russia.
on paper trusova is a clear winner, she has a highest bv in the world (among all ladies, juniors and seniors) and even with couple of mistakes and lowest pcss possible i cant imagine her gettin lower than 190.
i think for the podium both japanese ladies, katilyn, aurora and anastasia has a chance
