Please, let's keep Pavel far from Elena and her entourage, thank you.

That would be a very intelligent decision for Russian ID in general. No need to build trust from the ground up, no need to break up bonds that have already been cemented or create more drama where there's none.

Why doesn't Ruslan come out himself and set the record straight? After all he's a big boy he can speak for himself.

I believe the coaches have said that he is injured to keep their funding from the federation. IMO this is confirmed by Elena and Ruslan being included in the reserve list for the National team. If he comes out and says he finished with Elena, then they loses their funding.

All zhiganshin has to say is that he is injured and will be back. He's said nothing to anyone. If he is being used so others can lie for money being silent doesn't make him not a liar. He won't say he's retired so Elena and kustarova get money? That's what he's doing? Being silent is not ethical.

Or maybe Zhinganshin doesn't know what he should do next, he half wants to retire half not.

Or he may be injured and honestly doesn't know whether he will be able to continue or not, even if he would like to. Why do you automatically assume that he is a dishonest liar, when there can be several other explanations? It says a lot about you as a person, to expect only the worst from others and making allegations when you don't have the information.

Finally an appropriate response. Wow, after only 9 pages. You know this could just actually be a very difficult time for them both and we really don't know the full story. After all if Tarasova hadn't revealed to the world that Lena had a major injury before TEB 2016, we may never had known about it. Not everybody reveals every problem, vacation or honeymoon photo :hslap: about themselves publicly in social media :drama: I think we'd be surprised to know that the image developed by Zhulin, Morozov and others about Lena is really just an image and isn't really the full reality. :coffee:

If Vaitsekhovskaia's latest comment on her blog has something to do with reality than we will not get anything official from either of them till September. If they will make the announcement now, or even just give an interview, they will stop getting money, or it will raise logical questions from authorities why the Fed is still paying them. So the taken course is the Fed continues to pay for their 'trainings' and they keep silent at least till open skates, where funding redistributes.

He doesn't have to to go into so much detail. He could just say one sentence! "I'm not retired." He's a public figure funded by the state. That's why it was reported publicly he retired. If they are not eligible for state funding it's a scandal!

But they are eligible. They worked for it, so they are getting it. No one gave them anything for free.

This. Even if it's true that this is what they are currently doing (which is an unsubstantiated rumor at the moment unless someone can actually offer proof) the funding is/was for the past year when they did train and compete. If they continued to claim they were together but he was just injured going into next season's funding, and in reality they had split up, and they began receiving next season's funding then, that would be fraud. It is not fraud to keep their mouths shut and continue to get the funding they were entitled to for this past season.

You think they're the first to do this? Plushenko did it for the last couple of years, so Mishin's school could get funding. Maxim Shabalin did it. Volosozhar and Trankov and Lipnitskaya and probably Sotnikova are doing it.

Really, when did the stop paying Plushenko? Loco, loco. The money they paid that man they could have invested in a practically comotose ID programme. :disapp::confused2:

You have to remember that if someone is on the Team the Fed gets a cut of their figure skating-related earnings. So it's not a one-way deal by any means.

How do you know what he did or did not tell the federation? He might have gone to them and told them that he wants to quit for any reason, and they could have suggested it themselves that he takes a few more months, until the test skates, to think things through, whether it is really what he wants to do. You are basing it on what he said or did not say to the public, but he doesn't owe us anything, so why should he have to give us any explanations?

I disagree that he doesn't owe anyone an explanation. He Is a public figure getting funding by tax payers. He is not a private citizen. He chose to be an ice dancer and represent Russia.

You are right about all these people and they all said publicly they would compete agian or like shabalin and domnina had excuses for why they weren't and were very public. shabalin and knee and domnina and pregnancy. Zhiganshin has been completely silent. Unusual!!!

But they are eligible. They worked for it, so they are getting it. No one gave them anything for free.

Good then

He gets money too.

I thought so

Don't have all info because zhiganshin is now totally silent

Oh, so because Zhiganshin did not make any statemenet to the media, he is a fair game for any allegations? You do realise that it is dlander, to be making claims while you don't have any information m as you admitted yourself.

Well, there was a lot of questions with Plushenko, you probably missed them. And with all respect to Ruslan and Elena, they are not Plushenko. He is a symbol and he exists, while Ilinykh/Zhiganshin team probably doesn't exist anymore. There's the difference.

This hasn't stopped this thread and many others from making gazzillion assumptions about Lena, and she has said absolutely nothing, not even through Vaitch or Simonenko, nada. She practically said nothing about Katsalapov either, despite his rants.
Strange the double standards we apply across threads both here and abroad.
