I thought I would be going to SA this year.
But it seems to me (aside from S/Z and Sasha's comebacks), SC has a better lineup of skaters.

If you had to pick one, which GP would you choose?
(since i'm in US, other GPs are sadly not realistic options)

I live in Los Angeles, so going to Lake Placid or canada is quite out of the question, esp since both events are during the school year.

Without a doubt I would go to SA just to see Yuna Kim.
And also for the chance to see Sasha's return
And to see S/Z' return
And to see pretty Tanith
And maybe even Michelle

SC will be good too with Joannie, Mirai and Caroline.

who do you want to see most? that'd be my deciding factor...

and have you priced the two trips? hotel, food, airfare/travel, etc? that'd be how I'd choose (in fact that's how I chose not to go to either this year  )

I went to the LA worlds, so pretty much seen everyone except S/Z and Sasha.
as for trip cost, i think SC would be cheaper. canadian loonies are still worth less than us dollar?

they are, but hotels and airfare seem way more expensive (or were when I priced them a couple months ago)

Well I am going to SA. And the chance to see Yuna live seals the deal for me. But I got the tickets before I knew who would be there. I fully expect to get a pic with Yuna...and Brian and everyone else there. I did it in 07!!!

Good choice. SA is the one I'd pick just for Yu-Na.

I think I'm going to Skate Canada. It is during the school year, so I'd probably miss some class, but getting to see Daisuke Takahashi, Denis Ten, Pat Chan AND Armin in one place is totally worth it.
Skate Canada definitely has a better men's line up than Skate America. Plus, I have no way of getting to Lake Placid. :p

Men: Canada, although Tomas Verner will be in the USA
Ladies: USA (Yu-Na and Sasha, wow!), althoush Canada has quite a good field
Pairs: USA
Ice Dancing: USA
So it would have to be Skate America!

ticket prices

it seems like SC has much better ticket prices (unless I'm missing something)

SA's all events are $208, $166.50, $104.50

SC's all events are $145. I assume this is canadian dollar which means it would be even cheaper in american dollar.

but added to travel and hotel does it even out or is it still under the cost of SA?

see I'm all about travel planning, budgetting... and being cheap apparently lol

flying into buffalo is cheaper than flying into albany, thanks to southwest airlines at buf.
hotels at kitchener are lot more cheaper than lake placid.

anyways, I couldn't decide....so I think I'm going to both! :agree:
