Except that Laurie Hernandez is actually training for a comeback. https://www.businessinsider.com/laurie-hernandez-2020-tokyo-olympics-mantra-2019-6
I don't know how closely you follow gymnastics, but the community is fairly split on how much she is actually training. She isn't training at full capacity because of her endorsement obligations and her being invited to camp without making the national team has been questioned. Even Simone needed a full year of training and conditioning to come back fully and she's the GOAT.
Besides that point, the Shibs haven't really dedicated a ton of time to skating in the last year. They haven't done a ton of shows and when I did see them at SOI, they were noticeably slower than they used to be and still doing all of the same lifts, but I did like the direction of their new show program. I love them, but they seem to be distancing themselves from the skating community in general, so it would be really surprising if they did come back.
