Hello fellow Plushy fans! Hope you're all well! Today is my birthday, so I thought I'd do a post.

Apparently, there's a thread in the Edge about Yana, but judging from the title I'm not game to touch it with a 10-foot pole.

So moving along, in the last post it was Sasha's birthday, and he did indeed have a party on the ice!

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B6-5qxRAKt8 - Wow, nice balloons, nice cake! Also Ninja Turtles! But where's Donatello? I always thought Leonardo was the least liked one

https://www.instagram.com/p/B6_HdwVgY8e - Better shot of the cake! The kid on the right is Mark Sokolov, I believe? Pretty sure he was the kid who hugged Yuzu after one of his performances at Rostelecom Cup a few seasons back. He does rock a good mullet.

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B7BlI_noz6N - Sasha's present haul! He's decided to branch out into Lego now, I see.

Swan Lake had its last shows on Wednesday, some final videos and posts

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7DlO4kgRmF - D'aaaawwwww warming up with Coachshenko/Dad before the shows.

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B7DUsSoJWbj- Sasha skating his part in the show.

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B7BXJ2Jiv_w - Plushy skating...always a must watch! :)

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7GwRwhomTL/ - The cast of Swan Lake, swipe for smiling Plushy! Awww.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7GaGVao06Y - An intersesting look at the show from the higher up seats!

And in closing (since it's getting late and I'm seeing friends tomorrow)...

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7GwUD7iJPN - Plushy and Sasha finally able to take a break!

See you all later!

Happy birthday, anonymoose!:)

Meanwhile, the Yana thread - it's that old Daily Mail article that has surfaced again. I just glanced at it and it seems to have descended into discussions about politics, history and corporal punishment for children. When I say "glanced" I mean I just barely skimmed, so cannot give more detail than that.;)

Ha ha yeah I snuck a look at the last page and was very confused as they were talking about Russian history?

Then I realised it was probably that weird Daily Mail article... That paper is not known for its journalistic integrity, I'd take anything written in it with a bowl of salt!

And thank you for the birthday wishes! I had a great day! Much cake was had

Hello fellow Plushy fans! I hope you're all well.

I've just seen the coolest video on Insta, I'm sure it's often said Plushy could land a jump blind-folded and...

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7RMbpxIUQL - He can! :cheer: :)laugh: OK, I'm not sure if this counts, but it's still just so boss!)

What a Tsar! Love it.

It seems Plushy really did have only one day of rest as he's now performing in Moscow (Some of the Angels were there a few weeks back doing excerpts from The Snow King). Other skaters include Adelina, everyone's favourite Sergei V and Ksenia Stolbova (who skated on her own).

Hello fellow Plushy fans!

I hope you're all well and have enjoyed your week. It's a Long Weekend here in Aus, so I'm just kicking my feet up after finishing work.

In celebration of a Russian man (Dima!) winning Euros, let's look at the last Russian man to win Euros.

Plushy!

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7nkC9Qo2m8 - angelsofplushenko European Championship. Men open the competition. The last among the Russians was our Evgeni Plushenko. It was 8 years ago in Sheffield, England, in January 2012. Eugene then won the title for the seventh time in Russia. It was the most difficult European Championship for him, he performed with a back injury and skated after a long break in sports. At that time, Eugene was 29 years old. And ahead of the most complicated operation and the Olympics in Sochi, where, together with the team, Eugene Plushenko won his second Olympic gold. Ps: It’s interesting that Eugene played Tango Roxanne in a free program, the same composition in the short program is used by our pupil and participant of the current European Championship Ekaterina Ryabova 💪All in a good mood!😊 #angelsofplushenko @plushenkoofficial #Europe championship

No idea what's been said, but probably "OMG, epiiiiic" in Russian ;) Those jumps though... gorgeous!

As mentioned in the Competition threads, Plushy has the honour of participating in Europeans across three decades!

1998 - First appearance, at 15 - where he won silver, as to do

SP - Big fan of this costume, love the green!

LP - Look at BB!Plushy, doing quads and Beilmanns like a dang boss! Also this costume  he's like a disco ball!

2005

This Euros is memorable because Plushy was actually sitting in second place after the SP, I seem to recall a story that reigning champion, Brian Joubert did some trash talk and let it be said he regretted that one

SP - Moonlight Sonata

FS - Plushy was here to slaaaay. I always loved the Godfather with the red and black gloves, missed them during the Olympics. If you watch closely you can see the moment Brian Joubert is like "Well, shoot" ;)

2010

The Tsar saw the technical stagnation of Men's FS and declared it "Not good", so he returned!

SP - Doubters can see themselves out :p

FS - Check out this boss, favourite costume of all time. 3 seasons out and he kicks this competition's butt.

Bonus 2012 Euros because the commentary for this is from the US and it's weird!

SP - Storm!

FS - "Charisma, baby!" :laugh2: Peter Carruthers, you weirdo.

In the present, the Family Plush has headed to Japan for "Prince Ice World"

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7oON09iIt9 - Heading off yesterday - look at Sasha's adorable hat!

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7oSumuI2gH - On the plane.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7p9q7eg35J - Arriving in Tokyo to a warm welcome from the fans!

Other stuff!

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7q3BeuCY15 - OMG this is so cute! Aleksa Rakic of Canada who recently competed at YOG in Lausanne says Plushy is his inspiration! Good taste kid ;) Plushy thanks him and wishes him good luck.

Hello fellow Plushy fans!

Well, Euros has ended with a Russian sweep of golds across all disciplines! This hasn't happened since 2006!

Plushy was the men's winner there, despite having the flu and a fever he came out and demolished the competition winning by over 20 points!

SP - https://youtu.be/SyVv-q8fBM4 Gotta love Tosca

FS - https://youtu.be/lNIENLK-tfM - Dang, this is fierce! Such a boss.

Heh, TBH, I just wanted an excuse to post some good ol' Plushy programs.

As previously mentioned the Family Plush is in Japan where Sasha and Plushy are skating in Prince Ice World.

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B7xi5API-c2 - Plu in Blue skating to Nessun Dorma. My eyes feel blessed having watched this, poetry in motion etc.

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B7vC170H0B9 - Sasha brings out Tango Amore 2.0 - such a performer!

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B7sfT4GIXJ- - Sasha at practice with Plushy and Shoma Uno! D'awww so cute!

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B7tNqFnI09Q - More practicing, I do enjoy these behind-the-scenes stuff.

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B7xdlu-oxY5 - Off-ice practice with Plushy.

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B7yVSciAsVN - Sasha and Plushy's haul! Wow, the fans in Japan are generous! Yana's actually wondering how to get them all back!

Other stuff:

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7klOjMoWWP - This was posted last week, but I only saw it now and d'awww! :luv17:

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7x-Ityonnq - This at least was posted yesterday  I think it was before Sasha and Plushy went and practiced tennis.

Plu in Blue photos: https://www.instagram.com/p/B7ylNiiI-j_ - Such beauty!

Hello fellow Plushy fans!

Hope you've all had a great week.

There's a competition for the Younger Aged skaters and noted "not real" :p  coach Plushy is there to support Sofia Titova on the elements section of the competition.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B75_9C6oorN - Sofia jumps a 3 Lutz and then a 3 Flip, followed by a 3lutz-3T and 3flip-3T.

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B76E0BSoPlD - Sofia Titova's footwork and spins for the technical segment. I caught this live on YouTube and was super impressed! Sofia's in 2nd going into the FS today. I didn't actually realise Plushy was there until the end (he must have arrived home from Japan only the evening before) and I did squee, and rewind the stream to make sure.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B76OrXbowfk - Sofia was disappointed to be in second, but Coachshenko is there for her. :)

As mentioned the FS is tonight and I should be able to watch, yay time zones (for once).

Sasha stuff:

https://www.instagram.com/p/B71DKUBgQ_V - While in Japan Sasha met Kumamon the mascot of the Prefecture where the Prince Ice Shows were held. So. Cuuuuute!

https://www.instagram.com/p/B73lvQUoiJ7 - Sasha thanking the Japanese fans for their support. Awww at the second pic!

https://www.instagram.com/p/B76G40rIWmz - No doubt to many a Yuzu-fans jealousy, Sasha got a complete set of Yuzu chocolate bars from the trip. Yum!

Yana's breakfast

https://www.instagram.com/p/B75S52bIQJv

Blast from the past!

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B76WWo9IMJn - 12 years ago Yana and Plushy were in a show call "Ice Star", Plushy was a judge and Yana skated with someone else except for this one Sex Bomb number  Nice chairography! ;) (Also the David Ayvish's - Plushy's choreographer - cameo amuses me greatly.)

Anyway, it's dinner time for me, so I'll be off. See you next time!

Hello fellow Plushy fans!!

I bring exciting news! Despite finishing waaay before her music, Sofia Titova performed excellently and won the Russian Younger Age event!

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B7-aIwPIxJH - Sofia's FS.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B78mvaOIvoT - With the silver and bronze medallists.

Plushy posted a congratulatory post with Sofia's SP - https://www.instagram.com/tv/B787Hy7CLP3 - plushenkoofficial With your first victory, Sofa @sofyatitova_official A year ago, when you came to us in @angelsofplushenko after these competitions, you were 23, and today it’s already 1! Thanks to all our coaching staff for their work and parents for their trust! Let's move on! Bomb, champion! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Wow! 23rd place to 1st! Sofia obviously has a lot of talent and the Academy has helped her so much! :)

I took this video of my laptop screen of the big moment after the FS in the KnC - https://photos.app.goo.gl/EuSRLspz8w33UjmV8 Awww, such a proud team! :luv17: (Also a great distraction from FedEx getting beaten in the semifinals of the Aussie Open :().

I'm not gonna lie though the fact Sofia beat out the Sambo 70 girls here gives me some schadenfreude...but those "fake coach" comments peeved me off quite a bit.

It's an interesting competition with that elements segment though, I've never seen it other places. The Sambo 70 girls did pretty well in the SP and FS portion, but not as well in that segment. I didn't see most of it so I'm not sure if it was because they tried the super hard elements or not... Sofia's still working on a 3A and has yet to land it in competition.

Also in the Junior Age boys category is Nikita Sarnovsky, here's Coachshenko giving last minute instructions :) https://www.instagram.com/p/B78ysW0o8Wt

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7-b4nxoR3O - Part of Nikita's skate for the elements section. Overall he came 4th and gets to go to the Russian Open along with Sofia T in March, yay!

Also joining them is Anastasia Lyskh, who's not coached directly by Coachshenko, but here's her FS - https://www.instagram.com/tv/B78peJkIXkx - Nice costume!

Sasha stuff:

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B78x3B1IJQp - Sasha with this cool cube, a gift from the Japanese fans. Also Rhode watermelon socks may be the cutest things ever! :luv17:

Yana's breakfast

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7-ak7yoYmT - Man I'd love this breakfast...

Right I better head off, it's bedtime for me!

See you next time.

Hello fellow Plushy fans!

I've been very remiss in not updating this thread earlier, especially with Russian Junior Nats on and not one, but two Angels competing!

And Coachshenko was there! I'm such a sad fangirl that whenever he popped up in the background I was like "Hi, Plushy, hi!!" at the laptop screen :laugh2:

But more importantly, the boys - Artem Kovalev and Kirill Sarnovskii (seems I've been spelling his name wrong this whole time) did very well! Finishing 8th and 9th overall.

Kirill's SP - https://youtu.be/KnCeesQ1ek0?t=1380 - I caught this live on the stream. It was boss, quality armography, classic step sequence, good stuff! Ted should call Plushy Coachshenko

Artem's SP - https://youtu.be/KnCeesQ1ek0?t=3262 - I also watched this on the stream, but I didn't notice that Plushy and Team Tubteridze are standing right next to each other!! Totes awkward! I guess coaches are made of sterner stuff, I'd be standing as far away as possible! As for Artem, fab skate! Worth noting Ted's comments re: armography (Plushy must have been the most confident skater ever if he's right ) and you can also hear Coachshenko egging Artem on after the combo. Oh and the lesson in greeting everyone you know in the KnC from Coachshenko is adorable!

Following the SP - Kirill was in 12th and Artem in 6th.

Last night was the FS!

Looking through the full segment with Ted I hear he would be interested in interviewing Coachshenko! OMG, that would be so awesome! Hope he manages it at some point!

Kirill's FS - https://youtu.be/Z5yXcahFC9c?t=4065 - Kirill smashed this program like a boss! The armography brings me much joy! Some seriously good jumping there and awww he's got a Winnie the Pooh tissue box cover! What a little star!

Artem's FS - https://youtu.be/Z5yXcahFC9c?t=8340 - I did catch this live, poor Artem had a bit of a tough skate with two falls. Love his style though!

In the FS Kirill finished 8th (! - He doesn't even have a 3A yet!)) and Artem 15th.

On the competition thread it was mentioned Plushy looked super nervous especially after Artem's skate. As Ted said been a coach is nerve-wracking! Having said that I've never seen Plushy nervous before (maybe in Sochi?), it was a little surprising!

All in a fab competition for Kirill, not the best for Artem and a good outing for Coachshenko!

On that note I have to head off to meet my mother, so I'll have to wrap it up now. See you next time!

Hello fellow Plushy fans!

This is slightly later since it's already the 10th in Russia, but six years ago on the 9th February 2014, Team Russia anchored by Plushy won gold the inaugural Team Event at the Sochi Olympics!

It's also been six years since I began my road to being a big Plushy fangirl...just in time for Plushy to retire for good, do'h! I remember wondering how would he go in the individual competition and being like "What?? Noooo!" when I heard he'd had to withdraw.

Oh well, there'll always be that Team Gold and those fabulous programs (seriously I thought skating to a medley of his own best programs was the best dang thing ever :laugh2:)

In other news the Angels of Plushenko Insta also enjoys posting retrospectives. :) 8 years ago the Senior Russian Nats was held in Saransk (where the Junior Nats was) where Plushy won his 9th Nationals like a boss.

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B8WVWE2otMW - at TAT applauding like "Well, the camera's on me...I guess I gotta." Yana's beanie is also amazing!

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B8WdWRrqav- - Like the rest of us Coachshenko is super proud of Kirill and his two clean programs (I made Kirill a fan fest actually, if you want to visit).

Sasha stuff!

https://www.instagram.com/p/B8BllX8ogo2 - A look back on some nice moments at Prince Ice World.

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B8EPWT_I_XE - Sasha may need to get Mari Kondo over to deal with his toy situation

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B8MLQPlIFuI - Sasha working on English, looks much more thorough then Duolingo!

https://www.instagram.com/p/B8TwmlloAJD - Sasha discussing his program layout with Coachshenko. This is a SRS bsns conversation, but adorable :luv17:

https://www.instagram.com/p/B8O1601I-g3 - Sasha is working on a 2 loop-2 loop combo! Looks difficult! But it's a pretty good attempt! :)

Yana's pink themed breakfast from last week! https://www.instagram.com/p/B8GIaGSIn0y - Yum!

Yana in St Petersburg:

Phew, long post! I need to make dinner now, so see you next time!

Hello fellow Plushy fans!

Man, it feels like an age since I posted, last week was busy as heck! However yesterday I couldn't help thinking there was something important that happened in skating history...

And there was! On the 16th February (Torino time) in 2006 Plushy won his first Olympic Gold medal, winning over Stephane Lambiel by a whooping 20 points!

A most fabulous day! Which Plushy didn't forget:

14 years ago! .. Torino .. Italy .. My first gold Olympic medal 🥇💪🏻

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B8n_BKuIiLR - The Angels of Plushenko posted a celebratory post too!

A truly fabulous podium! The crowning of the Tsar of Ice!

I regret to report that at the time I was not the Plushy fangirl you see today. In fact I didn't even record the outcome of the men's event in my Live Journal, which I kept pretty religiously in the day. I did however write this following the SP:

Good news! I got the Men's Short Program taped tonight, yay! :OD They're very good those men, particularly the dude who was 007, although the Russian guy Pleshenko is currently kicking the [butt] of everyone else, 007 in second is 10 points behind him!

Ooh I'm looking forward to tomorrow...or is [it] Saturday dunno...

Guys, I couldn't even spell his name correctly! :shame: Also I seem to be a way more interested in Brian Joubert's fortunes! Maybe it was for the best I wasn't cheering for Plushy, we all know what happened to Brian J! (That 007 costume was boss though!)

Right there is more but I have literally 3 minutes to finish lunch, so I must dash!

Happy Torino Olympic memories everyone!

My following of fs at the time was nothing if not erratic, so I wasn't a "fan" of anybody - but I did watch that 2006 Olympics, and that was what made me a fan of Plushy's. And then he retired… I was so disappointed.

Hello fellow Plushy fans! Hope you're all well

Today marks another great moment in figure skating history! 10 years ago to the day Plushy won Silver/Platinum at the Vancouver Olympics.

People can say what they will about this, but to me the most astonishing thing is that after three and a half years out of competition, Plushy not only returned to the top levels of skating, but in 6 months was good enough to take a silver at the Olympics!

That's just nuts really, people train their whole lives to reach the Olympic podium once, this was the third time Plushy did it. What an absolute legend!

Also his Tango Amore costume is only my favourite costume ever

My thoughts as per Live Journal on this day

...In other news, Plushenko from Russia wasn't quiet able to to make it to gold tonight, I was rather saddened, I thought he put on a great show! An American fellow won, he did pretty damn good, obviously, but still, Plushenko - or as I named him - Plushy had sparklies! It looked like he was wearing a red jacket with a silver tie!

I'm so amused that my younger self thought she was the first to come up with "Plushy", obviously I thought I was all that. :p

I vividly remember the medal ceremony and the infamous stepping over the top of the podium drama, my mother was stunned, I thought it was kinda hilarious and hardcore.

I'm also chuckling at describing Evan L as some "American fellow", unthinking burn right there. Sorry, Evan, you just didn't make an impact on me.

Alas I can't find anyone marking this event, I guess it brings up all the technician vs artist arguments.

However, I bring this piece of evidence to the argument that should close the case once and for all :p

https://www.instagram.com/p/B8t0KSVoyfN - Now that's artistry! I could watch this all day.

My following of fs at the time was nothing if not erratic, so I wasn't a "fan" of anybody - but I did watch that 2006 Olympics, and that was what made me a fan of Plushy's. And then he retired… I was so disappointed.

Oh noooo that must of sucked! Did you follow his going-ons after that? I always wonder what Plushy fans of the time thought when he appeared at Eurovision, was it as epic as I think it would be? :)

Right, once again there is more to share, but I think I'll leave this post to stand on its own.

Until next time!

PS. Plushy did remember! :)

I'll be honest with you, I remember thinking he deserved the gold not because his jumps were perfect, but because most of them weren't yet he landed them like a boss. I was so impressed by that, like "Wow! He can do that! He's a cat!" (Thanks Scott Hamilton for that comparison ;) )

That video does cut out most of the commentary, which I can't blame Plushy for, Scott was OK, but whoever the lady commentator was...well she was just rude.
