Wagner certainly seems to be the It Skater from the U.S. this season -- and as long as she continues to win or medal, she will remain worthy of the spotlight.

Have not seen the link below to her latest blog for espnW posted elsewhere on GS. (Sorry if I overlooked it in another thread.)

Headed to Sochi for an Olympic preview

Just want to let people know that I'm closing my YT account (/user/AWfan52525) for Ashley vids the end of this month, so that people who want to watch any of them have chances to have access to them before they are gone. I am still debating with myself on whether to keep the other account public or not but probably I will close it too. Thanks Trewyn and all those who have left kind comments, I will continue to keep my fingers crossed for Ashley's and Courtney's health and success.

champs, thanks for leaving them up a while.

Is there any particular reason that you are choosing to close your youtube account?

Michelle Kwan interviews Ashley for Fox Sports. Ashley talks bout how portraying a character hekps to dispell some of the pressure of performing and how her childhood as an army kid traveling all over the world makes it easy for her to adapt to unusual and stressful situations.

She's a great role model for younger skaters. I like that she acknowledges that not everyone is rooting for her, but that that doesn't deter her. She says she has a totally different approach going into Nationals this year. Can't wait to see it. Good luck to her !

My bad, before this year I thought only actors, directors... people in showbiz go to oscar. Wagner looks stunning, though.

Sorry for my previous glib non-answer to your very reasonable question.

I do not know how Wagner -- as a non-actress and non-member of the Academy -- had the good fortune to have access to Oscar tickets, but I suspect that the cachet of her Olympic medal had something do with it. And of course, her fetching looks and personality certainly would not have hurt.

In any case, I am thrilled for her that she had this probably once-in-a-lifetime (for her) experience. :yay:

Her lp at worlds was so fabulous. She deserves higher pcs. Ashley is a great American skater and I hope this season she has two special programs.

She didn't have a Fan Fest thread yet? I agree, her FS at Worlds was wonderful and I hope next season she'll have good programs that suit her style (better than R&J at least!) and that she'll finally earn a medal at Worlds during the next couple of years!!

Hi guys! I am a huge Ashley Wagner fan (she's my favorite skater ever, though I'm pretty new to skating haha) and I just wanted to bump up this thread in anticipation of next season :) I cannot wait to see Ashley's new programs! Hopefully Shae-Lynn did something awesome!
