Many great little Javi moments at FaOI! It was my first time seeing him live and he was the sweetest.
In the first group number after the opening he danced a bit with Shizuka and finished back to back with Yuzu at the front pointing finger guns to the audience (guess Brian choreographed that one ) And Yuzu hi 5ed him after they finished.
That new program was gorgeous, he was wearing dark pants and white shirt. He really displayed his blade control in this program. And the jumps were working quite well that day :)
My mom and I were sitting on top of one of the entrances to the ice and Javi used that once after the Pirates number. We shouted 'Bravo Javi!', but as it just happened when everyone got quiet, he hear us and waved at us.
In the finale he was chatting a lot with Stephane and took off his jacket to attempt a 4Lo, he almost had it!
Everyone left the ice through the exit closest to us, and perhaps because the cheering for him had come from our side and we were foreigners, or idk but he stayed behind to wave at us as long as he could. He was so sweet!
He forgot his jacket outside and came back to retrieve it once everyone but Yuzuru had left the rink. Yuzuru pointed his mic at Javi and he just said 'gomenne' and ran back inside
Also, I think he changed his skate guards because last time I checked they were black but he was carrying some turquoise ones when he went to get his jacket.

Wow, you got a ticket! Thanks for your live report. That's so cool that you got to see it live!

Oh how cool is that, xibzuarz!! Thank you very much for the report! (And congrats on getting a ticket now that Yuzu is in the lineup!)

The song he was skating to is Leon Russell's A Song For You (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ms_oQHkyFEM). I got up just in time to see him do it, but perhaps it was that my morning eyes were too tired so was not very pleased with the whole... Have to hope for it to pop up online. Would have been interested in seeing how the SP develops...

Thank you! We got our tickets in the venue at the last minute, otherwise I might have prepared a gift or something for them. But being able to see both Javi and Yuzu, my two favorite skaters, live and up close was a wonderful experience :) Aside of course from the rest of the amazing cast.
So I take it the broadcast is over? Hopefully someone will upload it soon!

The "relevant" parts of the show from Kobe ;) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wx1yev0QlKM

The SP looks better IMO the posture is better, timing looks good, the way even the spins are part of the choreo is very good. The storyline is legible from the start. Pity about the camerawork on the step sequence which makes it hard to follow...

And today another FB live with LaLiga4Sports from Niigata: https://www.facebook.com/laliga4sports/videos/1684543371851538/

Javi interviews Evgeni Plushenko and they also talk about Javi's plans for the Olympic season.

I'm glad he's gone from hesitating about it in interviews to downright saying he's adding a new quad in practice and then depending on its success rate, he'll add it to his programs. He's made up his mind to go for it and now it's a question of whether the summer yields good results or not.

Thanks for the link. The summer preceding the Olympic season feels very long to most figure skating fans, so every tidbit of news is welcome. Are Javi and Evgeni friends? If they're not actually friends, then they certainly get on quite well. I guess that at the elite level, figure skating is a very small world.

Yes, they are quite good friends - this was Plushy's post, for example, when Javi won Worlds' for the second time:

Plush also wrote one of the two prefaces (the other was written by Orser) to Javi's biography.

And here's an old post of Javi's with Plush:

And since I was looking for that one, I also saw that Javi has posted a photo of himself and Plush in the La Liga shirts:

There's even a behind the scenes video of the meeting by Ari Zakarian: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKpBnit9q5o

Javi met Plushenko already when he was a kid in some summer camp or another, but recently they have been in some of the same tours (Art on Ice 2016, FaOI 2016 at least) and seem to get along very well. There were pics of football games (as they say in the vid) from Makuhari at least with Javi and Plushy etc.

Javi did mention that they are working on the third quad already earlier in interviews, but it never sounded as positive as this - hope it means that whatever he is doing on ice for training whilst in Japan is going well!
