I love "Racing" I wish he'd been able to skate it in more competitions.

And the anniversary of Igor Krutoi (many skaters participate)
They performed on November 3 (2019), but TV showed it only later.

the singers:
Lara Fabian, Andrea Bocelli, Dimash Kudaibergen, Aida Garifullina, Brio Sonores, Igor Krutoi

What a pity the camera is too often on the musicians and not on the skaters:( Rina, do you think there is a youtube video taped by someone in the arena, showing the skaters and not the musicians?

well, it is the anniversary of Igor Krutoi - not even a skating show, actually :coffee:

Rina, do you think there is a youtube video taped by someone in the arena, showing the skaters and not the musicians?

As far as I remember I tried to find something after this show (in November), but found nothing or almost nothing. So I was grateful, when I suddenly noticed, that TV finally had showed it in January.

tatianatotmyanina: Happy birthday Good-Luck-Man!!! Next to you things are going to be all right! LOVE YOU

(His workmates call him Good-Luck-Man, because even when he risks to be late, things are going to be all right. If they risk to be late, they say: "Yagudin is with us!" - it means they have no reason to worry.)

we can watch online the 'Romeo and Juliet' show by Ilya Averbukh
(the performance at Arena di Verona, Italy)

I don't know how long it is going to work, but I see those videos keep working for a few days at least.

I'd love to see it live some day:pray:

In this post Alexei texts: "Who knows, maybe it never will happen again in real life"

They didn't have an opportunity to work because of the virus, they still don't have it, now Averbukh says he needs government support. The president does speak about some support for some businesses, but I don't know whether Averbukh is among those who can get any support. I think Averbukh will have some work again, but maybe without Yagudin, maybe they'll work together only on TV. Who knows.

I'm grateful we can see this video. :luv17: We wanted to see the performance in Verona, didn't we? Here it is!

May 9 is The Victory Day
we celebrate the end of The Great Patriotic War (that part of WW II which took place on the Soviet lands)

When I was a kid, I knew this Day was very important for our country.
Now I feel this Day is really important for me. It is the day when I feel all the people are my family.

This time Alexei's post is a response to Tarasova's post.

t.a.tarasova:
In the end of the day I'd like to post this picture. A few years ago. May 9. The Parade. I believe we'll have again our parades and The Immortal Regiment will pass along Moscow streets. I thank you for the warm words, for the congratulations. I thank all our moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas for the Victory. Congratulations! Hurray!

alexei.yagudin: We THANK all our moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas for the clean sky above our heads, for the victory. I'm sure that later we'll have again our parades and The Immortal Regiment will pass along Moscow streets. Congratulations on the greatest date for our great country! 75 years since THE GREAT VICTORY!

(Alexei also reposted a video with a song)
alexei.yagudin: Thank you! Just thank you!!!

I expected to see posts by many skaters on May 9 this year when all of us have to stay at home. There are a lot of posts indeed. Many skaters tell about their family members who participated in WW II. You can see those texts here (many posts, scroll down):

It's so CUTE lol, he's always risking to be late. I remember how he said he did the same thing even in competitions, always arriving only 20 mins before the warm-up.

Late last year Yag participated in the show 'nice ice baby' and jumped a 3t, on a frozen lake, where the ice is really rough and partly covered with snow:unsure: I'm shocked. They say it's really difficult to do technical moves on bad ice.
He seems still pretty in shape to me, tho I can't help but notice he cannot do pancake spins the way he used to...maybe there's some problem with his artificial hip, I can only guess. He doesn't talk much about it, he just makes fun of it.

Just watched the Jump Fest...TBH, I guessed it would be fun, but didn't expect such a treat)) Yags was probably over-excited he was almost singing the girls' results out)))
I laughed so hard when TAT held up a 0 for Kolyada and Yags said ''6.0?'' So evil and so laughable😂😂makes my day))

Thought I should post this link, since no one has posted it here:
2001 Japan Open Yagudin FS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PKV0g3CBDg&t=1s
It's Gladiator WITH KNIVES. I know usually he only does that in ex, but this is not a serious event, and as the commentator says, it's legal as long as he doesn't drop them (sure he didn't). He didn't do any quad or even jump combination, and kept the "lying on ice" part which is usually seen only in ex versions. Anyway it's a competition program that looks exactly like an exhibition. The technical merit was just so-so, but the presentation mark was WOW...
The TNT commentators love him. They, especially the man, keep saying the nicest things. It's a pleasure to watch and listen to.

Short program (somehow without sounds, I'm dying for an UNmuted version!!!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zao2wxr8fQ&t=929s

The SP is Revolutionary Etude. Didn't find it on YouTube, but found it on one Chinese site. Yag doubled the quad, but other than that the program was nice. It was an early version of Revolutionary Etude, some moves are different.
(The Gladiator was also an early version, with the last part of footwork going in a different direction. I LOVE it when Yag does his footwork STAIGHT towards the judges. It takes my (and probably the judges') breath away.

Yag is participating in another FS-themed TV series again))) It's called "The Last Axel", telling about a lady skater who seeks the gold medal at Worlds. She lost her father, and tries to master the most difficult jump (so they say, but I'm not sure -- can 3A count as the most difficult jump?) so as to win and get the prize money for her and her younger sister. Yag will act as a choreographer, and also be the consultant for all FS-related stuff. Idk. I just hope it's better than "Hot Ice". And I just can't wait to see Yag becoming a choreographer:popcorn:
