Just got off teleconference with Aaron. Said he and Lori Nichol have completely retooled his FS, music changes (still from Carmen), jump layout, and now only 2 quads planned for Nationals. He has been very disappointed with his performances so far and is now feeling much more confident going into Boston.

Thx, KKonas. :)

Added Tom Zakrajsek ‏@CoachTomZ:
@LynnRutherford This new version has the music pieces and pacing that Lori originally wanted. It shows Max as a complete skater. I like it!

(1) Olympians meet 'model Olympians'
Olympians come alive when they square off with mannequins in one of the most unusual pieces of sports programming you'll see this week.

Two hits with Max :):
- at approx 0:24 for just a couple of seconds
- at approx 1:20 for somewhat longer

The video includes other Team USA skaters as well.

Excerpts from the section on Figure Skating:

- Max Aaron vaulted from an eighth-place showing at the 2012 national championships to claim the U.S. men’s title in 2013.

- Team USA won the gold medal at the World Team Trophy event in April in Tokyo. The team, captained by Wagner, finished first, followed by Canada and Japan. A figure skating team event will make its Olympic debut in Sochi.

(1) Road to Sochi: Max Aaron

Among the highlights of this video: a clip of 9-year-old Max skating with Scott Hamilton in a Stars on Ice show; lots of good footage of adult Max training in the gym; and nice soundbites from his mother.
ETA, freeze frame of young Max with Hamilton:

ETA, the link above is for the piece aired by the NBC station in Denver.

The NBC station in Phoenix has the same piece online:
Road to Sochi
Only two spots are availabe on the men's figure skating team, and defending U.S. National Champion Max Aaron from Scottsdale hopes he gets one of them.

And the NBC station in Phoenix aired a similar version of the same piece:

I agree, Max is the second from the left on the top row. The only other two I can pick are Joshua and Jason, who are the two on the right of the top row. Actually, I think Adam is between Max and Joshua. I think it might be Ross on the left of Max.

Anyone got any more?

~ Max is one of the selected athletes shown in stylized artwork at the top of two of Liberty Mutual's general pages about its sponsorship program:
And of course Max's image also is on the page showing all of the Team LM athletes:

Accordingly, the "profile" imagery on @LibertyMutual's Twitter page has been changed to feature the same type of stylized artwork depicting Max.
And the cover photo on LibertyMutual's FB page has been changed to artwork of Max.
ETA, the Max video described below now is in the prime position right at the top of Liberty Mutual's YouTube page:

Three great new videos of Max from his sponsor Liberty Mutual Insurance (all published on Dec 20):

(3) RISE: Max Aaron, a film by Liberty Mutual
Ask U.S. figure skater Max Aaron what it all came down to, and he'll say mental preparation. It was the biggest performance of his career, and he blew it. Everyone said he'd never fit in. Everyone said he'd never be a champion. But instead of giving up, Max got back up. Now, Max is on the RISE and in the running for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.
On his journey to make Team USA, there's no turning back — there's no stopping him.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAxq7DTNm3g (2:44 in length) -- thanks to dardar :) for flagging this one on FSU

This longer one includes some gems of #throwback footage of Max at a very young age, both as a hockey player and as a figure skater. In one brief clip, mini Max even is skating pairs or ice dance with a little girl; he seems to be wearing a cowboy costume complete with chaps. (The hockey stuff is different from what was in the highly enjoyable montage of a somewhat older Max that US Figure Skating published some months ago.)
A cameo appearance by Max's loving -- and lovely -- parents  is another bonus of this video. Very nice to hear from them, esp. because Max's devotion to them and to his grandparents is a recurring theme in many of his interviews.

And @LibertyMutual finally :) has tweeted a link to the very nice video about Max that is described above. I suppose the company was waiting until the week of Boston Nats to heavily promote Max.

karne, thanks for identifying Joshua and Adam. And I definitely agree re Jason and Ross.
Maybe Keegan Messing is in the third row at the very left?
And I think Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski are the bigger two in the bottom right corner.

Reigning champion Max Aaron's lone mistake was tacking on only a double to his opening quad Salchow. His 86.95 points have him right in the mix for a berth in Sochi.

Words can't express how thankful I am for everything in life and all the love everyone has given me.
Sorry for the delay but I wanted to take the time to write something from the heart. I want to thank all my friends, family, fans and sponsors for all the support this year leading up to my first Olympic Trials. It breaks my heart knowing I won't be at the games but I know we have an amazing team. Congratulations to all the team members, especially my friends Jeremy and Jason. My spirit will live through the team, hoping for success in every discipline. I am honored to be selected for the World Championships and hope to make the USA Proud! Can't thank you all enough from the bottom of my heart for the moments you all have given me. If there was a way to thank each and every one of you I would. Go USA!

Very cool that Jim Craig of the Olympic "Miracle on Ice" hockey team was part of the American Legends show in which Max performed.
I hope that Max got to spend some quality time backstage with one of his inspirations. In the USFS "having a bad day" fluff montage this season, Max said that his antidote is watching coach Herb Brook's motivational speech that led to the "Miracle on Ice." :)
