Third through eighth place after the SD is so close! I think the competition for bronze is going to be more epic than gold!

I'm really happy with their competition. Whatever they decide to do, they had an amazing career in skating.

It still makes me quite sad they ended 5th. No doubt that canadian and french pairs are technically perfect, but B/S free dance touches me personally much more and technically they are very good also.

I love what they showed at the Olympics :points:
This is a brilliant concluding season for them, I'm sad that they didn't get the bronze, however, life is life. I'm content that they did the best.

Maybe, that’s so generous and kind of her. There should be more people like her on earth.
I think she would have gotten a car in Sochi as well, for their team gold.

Any news of them? Their FD last season is fun but I can't find any information of them this season (may miss out some posts in the edge).

Dima is skating in Navka show with Ilinykh, Katya is perhaps expecting (this I don't know for sure). Yesterday Elena and Dima shared stories and posts in Instagram with very very good lifts and lines, Elena was thanking in a story to Katya for helping her with the lifts. :) There were people asking about whether they will become a competitive couple and Elena said they will think about it and hopefully. Katya wants to be a parent so for now she perhaps has given up the competitive career. The questions is whether Dima and Lena will want to continue as couple in competitions or just shows. Honestly both are too good of skaters to just retire. If for one month with not much skating they did this, I don't know what else they can do especially if Katya is helping them. Anyway just seeing them skate in shows and producing this is awesome.

Thanks a lot for the information, sunn1ly. I knew that Dmitri and Elena were going to skate together in shows, but it is nice to know more - about Ekaterina helping them etc. Also encouraging to know that they are at least thinking about competing. I know that probably it's not very likely at this point, but I am going to hope.

Dmitri is in SI swimsuit edition (well, kinda, sort of).

Ladies (and guys too!), it's ok to objectify here. Those "natural truth" interviews are not vulgar, but aesthetically pleasing. This is a basically Russian version of Sports Illustrated bikini edition. Athletes speak about their fears, dreams, team work, vulnerabilities, hopes, stress, nerves, overcoming insecurities, will power and motivation. Some athletes speak up against doping a lot and wrong personal choices.

Here is an eye candy for you guys - Dmitri Soloviev:

was reading an interview with new pair representing Azerbaijan (Ukranian guy & US girl) & the partner said super nice things about Dima (& Scott obvi:biggrin::luv17:)
Was nice to read that he's admired

DP: My favorite ice dancer is Scott Moir. I would love to work with him some day. I admire his ability to present himself as strong on the ice but playful at the same time. He seems to have a great sense of humor. As a child, I idolized Dimitry Soloviev. Watching him on television and Youtube over the years inspired me to ice dance when the time came to choose to either continue with it or to pursue my other passion which is music.
