Eteri said she picks him and Yulia up and they ride together to the rink everyday. At least according to my translator. He's got potential to say the least! :agree:

I think Yulia is learning to show a little more and as he grows I'm sure the same will happen for him. These kids and their lofty expectations...sheesh. Ill definetely keep my eye on this one!

do you think we'll see him next year with the seniors?
Adian was 5th at Russian Senior Nationals 2014.
But it is almost impossible that he will be at 2014/2015 at Senior Internationals without quad. He is very young, born 16 May 1998 - same age as Julia.
And Russia has good Men in Seniors - Kovtun (4th at Worlds), Voronov, Menshov (medalists of Euro), no need to send 16-years-old Adian to Seniors.

At Senior Internationals may be other Eteri's student - Moris Kvitelashvili (born 17 Mar 1995), at Final of Russian Cup 2014 he landed 4T+3T both in SP and FS and two quads in FS.

I really liked him at nationals but yes, I too doubt he'll get a chance to show up in the senior circuit :eek:hwell: Maybe the Russian Fed will better need to help Gachinski's reputation or reinforce Voronov's one before "throwing into the fray" another still so young skater :rolleye:

Oh no, is he going to bring screamo to next season's programs too?!

Lol, funny to see his thread pop up again. Meoima and I were just discussing him in Yuzu's thread.

Anyone know why the Russian Fed. decided to throw him into seniors? He still hadn't won Junior Worlds or JGPF yet. Does this move mean the Federation doesn't trust Kovtun/Voronov/Gachinski?

Didn't you see my evidence in "predictions for your favorite skaters". Serafima is going to bring metal music to FS. I put forth all the evidence. Since both he and Serafima have put "in love" with each other maybe they can become the first couple of metal:rock:

I do like this kid but with all this puppy love and Serafima now training with Eteri's group will he become distracted or sidetracked?

Lol, you're such a nice, considerate guy. ;) You're worried about love cutting into their training, while all I'm thinking is, "Oh god, my poor ears next season. Max, Serafima, Adian, and possibly Kevin Reynolds are all gonna bring the screamo."

Maybe Russian Fed want to push Pitkeev harder than when they did with Kovtun. They might think they spoilt Kovtun and Gachinski too much. :eek:hwell: poor those guys, but it couldn't be helped.

But Pitkeev hasn't done with growing, for sure. I have a feeling he will end up as tall as Kovtun or Gachinski. Russian men you know. They say you need to get to a certain height and weight for some better technique for 3A and quad. But men usually don't have to worry much about this matter as ladies, though.

If Pitkeev goes senior, then does that mean Nam should go senior as well? Nam is Asian so I don't think he will get much taller than he is now, though. But...it's hard to say with their bodies at the moment.

Skate Canada is lacking good skaters in men field so they might try to push Nam. On Instagram, Nam says he is getting the 4S but on the video it still looks under rotated. I think Pitkeev is working on quad as well (for sure). They might show their quads if both go senior next season.

SP at Russian Nats this year. I kind of like it when a skater performs very well and doesn't act like its the first time it's ever happened. There is something to be said of someone who takes what they do very seriously and want to improve each time. His jumps look big but most importantly crisp. Will that translate into a quad ... My potential meter is going off right now plus... I really like seeing Eteri in the Kiss-n-Cry.

He definitely will get a quad, don't worry. All Russian men. :)

But one minus: his jumps have great height but not much across the ice. It's "up and down" but "not across". I am using a poster "description" who has seen them live. She described Han Yan's jumps as "across but not up and down". Well, sometimes we can see it in video as well.

But he's still junior so it's easy to understand, he will get better. He has better jumping technique than Nam, for sure. :)

PS: They will get taller, won't they? I am curious to see how tall Pitkeev and Nam will grow to.

I thought this was a good interview with Adian. He says he didn't like his SP this season, but loved Art on Ice. So maybe we will see a more expressive Adian in the future if his programs are more to his liking. He says is also rather shy and reserved, but perhaps his love affair with Serafima will help open him up a bit.

Perhaps I am too old already. They are still children and already have "love affair". what will happen if they have a fight? You know young love. The atmosphere in the training rink would be very funny. I wonder what Eteri thinks. She is like a big mommy.

I'm sure Adian will get a quad soon enough if he wants one. Russian men, as you said. ;) I'm just worried about injuries/long-term damage of starting the quad so young. Plushy blames his later injuries on starting the quad really young, "before the bones were formed." (I can't find the link to the interview immediately and need to go out soon, but I remember this clearly). I'm worried about Adian because he doesn't seem to have a fully-formed bone structure and definitely has more growing to do. Nam looks more fully-formed to me. Then again, despite starting the quad young, Plushy did have the longest career of them all. Maybe Adian wants to learn the right technique young so he can keep the quad forever.

Wikipedia says Artur is 1.75 cm and Kovtun 1.76. Is this right? Kovtun always seemed taller to me, but that could be because he's so thin and lanky.

I do think there is some merit in what the Russian Fed. is doing. The problem is that Adian and Nam are emerging to the "full field," of which the leader is only 19. Plushy and Yagudin emerged to an empty field of early retirements (Kulik), people long past their prime (Stojko, Eldridge), and people from their own generation who weren't as good (Goebel, Honda). Granted, even Stojko and Eldridge in their prime would've been left in the dust and Kulik would've likely plummeted to Russian #3 post-1999 (though he could've won 1998 and 2000 Worlds). I'm getting good vibes from Adian and Nam and I want to see an epic rivalry... but at the same time, I want Yuzu, Javi, and Machida to win more stuff (and I suspect they will).

Kulik my 2nd love had once big problem: his concentration. But well it's in the past and he still won OGM anyways.

You and I seem to have same question about Pitkeev's growth. He still looks very much junior and I have a feeling he will at least get as tall as Kovtun or Artur.

They say Yagudin is short but he is still 1m75 which is still way taller than the Asian men, and Plushy is 1m78.

Russian men, surely he will grow. Even Kovtun and Artur could have grew taller at their age. Men only stop growing at the age of 25, science said so.

On the other hand, Nam is Asian and I have a feeling he will not get much taller. Nam might not get as tall as Yuzuru now. And Yuzuru seems to stop growing since he was 16.

From what I see, Adian will change his form a lot in the next 4 years, so it's hard to say until his body developed fully. Still not as cute as Plushy at the same age, sorry I find everything Plushy cuter, lol, very biased.

But at the moment, I can tell he has better jumping technique than Nam. He looks less awkward with the jumps than Nam but it seems Nam has more flow (as I have said, Adian's jumps look up and down, not much across). It's easier to compare these 2 children because they are at the same age. For sure I hope for epic rivalry between Adian and Nam. :)

Top guys like Javi, Machida and Yuzuru will likely to retire after the next Olympic. Adian and Nam will only be 19-20 at the time so we don't have to worry that they don't have enough time to grow. It's just how they develop. Anyways, they are still young so let's wait and see.:)

Umm, do you think Machida will last that much? I have a feeling he might retire before the next Olympics.
As per Adian- I hope they do not rush quad into him cause he doesn't seem to be that strong to me at the moment.
