Adian Pitkeev

Hello! Happy Happy birthday to Adian. I wish the best for him, and miss him a lot.

Till last weekend Adian had been on vacation in Greece. He posted two pics on his Instagram:

And right after his return he went to a skating camp at Gorjatchi Kljutch (Krasnodar region), where he will coach together with Sergei Dobrin.

Time for a few updates. As mentioned right after his Holidays Adian went to a skating camp in Goriachi Kliutch, where he assists Sergei Dobrin.

I wish Adian would consider skating in shows. Even without jumps his skating is beautiful.

Time for updates again. Good and bad news. Right after the camp in Goriachi Kliutch Adian went to UFA in Bashkortostan for another camp organized by the figures skating league, where he coaches alongside Maxim Savosin (so these camps are ZSKA-driven). Sasha Proklova has also been invited. :thumbsup:

Adian participated for the third time in a camp of this organization. Now here are the bad news: since he has been constantly participating in camps and before that on vacation this means that there was no possibility for him to train for more than two months now. I guess this is a hint that he couldn’t continue in ice dance and now focuses on his coaching career. However, Adian doesn’t answer questions on that issue on his ask, so no official statement yet.

Well, he looks great, healthy and happy. He's clearly a lot more confident and relaxed than he ever looked with Eteri. As far as ice dance goes, if he's really interested, I hope he won't give up trying. Some small federation would surely be lucky to have him.

Two, three months ago I would have agreed with you. I actually even investigated if I could bring him to my country some months ago. But know I don’t think it would be a good option for him. Adian is studying at the Moscow sport university, which is a very reputable faculty. So he really gets a good base and education for professional coaching with that. During the camps he has a chance to learn from very good coaches, who work with world class athletes at CSKA (Savosin, Uspenski, …). If he would decide to skate for some obscure European country, he would have to interrupt his studies and he would not be able to participate in these camps. His coaching career seems to start off so well – why risking it? And actually Adian himself now seems to be prepared and very eager to start this new chapter in his life judging from his recent entry on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/BmYoYVxj6g4/?taken-by=adyanpitkeev

Sergei Dobrin answered: “Don’t worry Adian, everything will work out for you”.

Adian is still so young, but he can be very proud of himself, not only how hard he tried to come back, but also how he left all these disappointments behind him and moved on to a new profession with full engagement and positive energy. Watching him on the ice with the kids and how much the kids adore him is just so very cute.

I only wish Adian would also consider to skate a bit in shows. He is still in great shape. People still remember him and jumps aside his skating is as beautiful as ever. I wish he would try. But if he wants to focus on coaching solely, I’m happy with that either.

In my book Adian was more shouting than singing, but I guess the vocal part is the weak point ot the group.

At first they planned that both programs would be made by Sergey Komolov. But in the end, Sergey Vladimirovich himself chose music for an arbitrary one. For a short program - Adyan Pitkeev, because Adyan at that time worked at the training camp of Sergey Vladimirovich. And he offered to give me a program, since it seemed to him that I resemble Adyan himself. I liked the programs, the work was very cool and fun. I am very grateful to them.
I am so glad that there is finally a good skater from Krasnodar in Krasnoadar Krai (before there were only skaters form Sochi) but sad that I haven't know that Adian was inthe city but I haven't known

Well, never say no. Sometimes injuries might heal with time (see Deanna Stellato). But I think at this point it’s just highly unlikely that Adian will compete again unless some miracle happens. That he is coaching a lot is evidence that his plans to continue in ice dance also didn’t work out.

However, his back seems to be better now as he was just recently doing a triple jump again:

Adian's jumps are still beautiful, in particular considering that it looks like he had not jumped for quite a while. I so much wish he’d consider to skate in shows. In any case I’m just happy that his back seems to be much better now. :hap93:

Aww, Adian is still a bit shy. It’s by the way the first time that he officially announces his retirement from skating (so even ice dance) and that he has completely moved to coaching. Well, one can see this interview was not any easy one for him. :sad21: But it looks like he will become a very good coach in future. :thumbsup:

Adian started coaching on regular base at a Moscow rink last summer (here: https://www.instagram.com/armyofskaters/ ). So he has now a fix place to work with his own group. From what I’ve seen he is in charge for the younger groups, while Julia Lawrentchuk and Alexej Vasiliewsky coach more mature groups like junior and seniors.
