Roman09: Thanks for sharing the interview. Evgenia seems very dedicated to figure skating, and to portraying the requisite character of her programs. :)

Bezrukova translates as "with no hands"... :)
Ah, it's just a surname :) And hands are not much needed in figure skating, legs are much more important there  a joke, of course
P.S. Are you studying russian or russian native?

Polish. I had Russian in school 35 years ago. Now living in the US, but there are many Russians in my neighborhood... And Ukrainians... And they are still close to each other, despite current political situation... :)
I can still translate Russian articles. Not as well and quickly as you can. And I need Google's aid... :)

P.S. I am a bit disappointed the Russian girls don't perform to Russian folk music as often as I would love them to. Last time I saw Russian folk by a current skater was Elena's gala program from last year. The one with the scarf.
I wish they could perform to the Russian folklore much more often. It's the best music and dance moves I know.

Maybe they are afraid that judges would not appreciate this kind of music?

Her elegance is really inborn, isn't it? I love watching her even though she's not very fast at this moment. Her jumps also look elegant.

The winner of the JGFP Evgenia Medvedeva wich leading after the short program on the JuniorNats in Yoshkar-Ola commented the performance for the offical site of FFKR.
"I gathered for 70 points. Though my program is calculated on it. Such points I win on the second event in a row. I skated the program here as I can. At the moment on bigger to count it's problematic. So to say: I showed the maximum in the short program.
I worried. To be honest, it's easier for me to act on the final or stages of the Grand Prix, the World Cup, than on the junior championship of Russia. We have very big competition, and at such competitions there is a selection for responsible tournaments. At the international competitions there are less [strong] rivals and the such freight of responsibility as at our country is absent.
Besides, abroad you distract. There is a lot of different people, you communicate with all, you don't load to yourself with unnecessary thoughts. And at home country you know accurately that it is necessary to go [on ice] and to show a maximum. Sometimes such pressure disturbs.
If we talk about the conditions in Yoshkar-Ola, the ice is good. At the rink is cool, I breathe and skate here easily. I liked it"

A commentary from one VK user: 'Zhenia skated very well, there wasn't even any small mistakes. The rostrum applauded to her for a long time, heads of the federation too. When she left the ice, from the Lodge where they [the federation's heads] were sitting, they said "Well done". I didn't see who it was, perhaps [Alexander] Kogan [The President of RusFed]. I really liked her skating'

Evgenia Medvedeva: "I often skate the last on practices"
07 February, 2015
Evgenia Medvedeva won the championship of Russia in Yoshkar-Ola. After the perfomance the skater gave the short comment:
"I skated FS very surely because on practices I often come to ice to make a hire the last. But I already got used to act by all numbers. Though, of course, here is more responsibility in the national championship. But we so often skate the whole programs on practices that the main thing to me is to come and to make everything.
More disturbingly was to wait for the exit. Both I has been walked and I has been sat. I worried as if my feet didn't become numb. But all is behind. I skated normally.
The hire and the performance turned out good in general.
I'm glad that I won this event. Though I went here just for gold", - told Evgenia

That's wonderful news! It took a while but I just knew all the wonderful qualities in Evgenia's skating that I saw early in the season would finally get her the outstanding scores she deserved. She has now finished 1st as a Junior in 6 straight competitions: Courcheval, Ostrava, the Junior Grand Prix Final, Russian Nationals (1st among the Juniors), the Spartakiad and Russian Junior Nationals. I hope she keeps it up! I noticed she went back to her black outfit with pants. I wonder why. Poshemu? Shest sorevnovaniya podriad. Udevetyelne!
