Anyone else watching? Congrats to Mitchell Gordon on scoring a new personal best by about 6 points! He was really close to landing the triple axel. It looked fully rotated to me, just a low landing and he couldn't stand it up.

I'm looking forward to seeing Shotaro in this group. Hopefully he's in a little better shape, has a little more confidence with a competition under his belt and can put himself in podium position here. His personal best is higher than Andrei Leizukin's lead so he has potential to do well here. Fingers crossed!

I'm looking forward to Omori too. Ganbatte, Shotaro! (I know that he is an American, of course ... who also is proud of his Japanese ancestry. :))

A clean skate for Shotaro! Great for him. A little scratchy on the landing of his lutz and and toe but everything looked clean and rotated to me.

I'm surprised he only scored 66.3 but it puts him in third, in striking distance of first, and WAY ahead of his season best of 58 and change.

That was much better. I think he lost a lot on the lutz. It looked like a flutz and the landing was a bit messy, but he's definitely in good standing for the podium!

FWIW: That's still his (EDITED: third, actually) best SP score, I think. And a score in the high 60s is actually pretty good. Anything above 70 is more of a rare occurrence at this point in the season.

ETA: Only two skaters (Boyang Jin and Alexander Petrov) have done so during this JGP season. (Also it's sort of fun to see Jason Brown on top of the season's best SP list for now.... :) )

Yap Yap I was watching the whole show from the Press seats to warm up a bit but also write a little about the Ice Dance and Ladies top three.

If I count the peeps here then maybe 25 are watching at the ice rink ;) I am sure you can top this on the stream :D

Thanks Alex D! Are you a reporter for a particular outlet? It's impressive to hear that you were at Nebelhorn and now here!

In Figure Skating no, I report exclusively here as simply put in Germany where I live nobody is interested in them and even if, GS offers a much bigger audience and its international and I don't write only about national skaters anyways.

My main profession is musician ;) from journalism alone I can´t make a living sadly but maybe some day I will but then I probably need to purely focus on tennis, snowboard and soccer as this is where I get paid right now :D

!, UR and "landing was a bit messy" - GOE -2 -3 and he lost more than 4 points with respect to He Zhang and more than 3 to Lazukin.
If clean Lutz he would be ahead both.

Also at 3F+3T 3T looked "URed or almost URed" - low GOE.

You mean you get paid covering those sports or playing them? ;)
