Was hoping for a better draw for Mirai. I know the judges will hold back on the scores being the first person. Well she has to bring it.

Very interesting skating order. I like how Wagner is splat in the center with Gold right after, yet not completely last as is usual for SP program winners.

I'm new to figure skating. How are these skating orders chosen?

Usually they split the entire competition into groups of 6 (or less), and then they have it in reverse order of the SP placements (so #1-6 from the short program skate in the last group). In international competition, it's just then a random draw between the six of each group (so first in the SP can go first in the last group), but the US Nationals does it differently - so #4-6 from the short draw to go first, second, and third in the final group, and #1-3 from the short draw to go fourth, fifth, and last in the final group.

Hopefully skating before the favorites will help Mirai as she doesn't have the pressure of skating after them.
Who knew the Ashley/ Gracie showdown would be this epic? I'm getting on Gracie to give it her all. She's not one to go down without a fight.

Long shot here, but is there anywhere you can watch uploaded videos of the event (after the fact) without spoilers?

Yes, in an hour it should begin.

Thanks. And NBC live stream (I don't have IN subscription) begins in 2 hours. For me it means that it begins ar 2 a.m. A big cup of green tea is waiting!

Yup, I also wish she was situated a bit better but what can you do. I am really really hoping for her, and if not her then Hicks.

Believe me, I know the feeling. Experienced it during Russian Nationals last month. Will experience it again in a matter of days for Europeans. I end up feeling like I've been run over by a truck by the time it's all over.

Anyone know what time the final warm-up group will take the ice? That way I can try to sleep a couple hours now until then...

I have quite a luxury that Europeans are at "normal" time for me :) Who the hell invented time zones? :p   :confused2:

I don't have a timesheet in front of me right now, but I would hazard to guess the final group would take the ice around 10pm EST (NBC coverage lasts from 8pm to 11pm EST).

About 3 and a half hours from now.
