As for me, I've just got the Dance and Team categories left to sort. (Although I know fine well what order I'm going to put everybody in, I'm still going through the motions of doing the research! Why kill the habit of a lifetime? )

I have to be honest. Before I started into this, I knew fine well what order I was going to put everybody into in each category.

However, I still did the research that I normally do, as I wanted to do an experiment.

Since the World Championships, I have found out that there is a single season World Rankings list as well as the 3 season World Standings list (thank you for pointing this out, Golden). And I wanted to do a direct comparison between the order of the skaters on one list compared to the other list.

As for the predictions, well, it was pretty obvious what I was going to do in the Ladies category! Although, I did stray from my ideal order when it came to Murakami. I would have loved to have a Russian 1-2 followed by a Japanese 3-4. But, Kanako hasn’t had a great season compared to the Americans, so I had to drop her down below them.

In the other categories, the order was purely down to my own choice. But, as it turned out, it still roughly correlated with the scientific results.

The only major deviation from the scientific results was the final 2 places in Ice Dance. Wang / Liu are lower than the Reeds in all PB’s and in the World Standing. Although the overall PB is a good bit lower for the Chinese couple, the segment PB scores are actually very similar. And whereas all of the Reeds PB’s were scored at the last WTT in 2013, the Chinese scored their PB’s this season. All in all, the Chinese couple have been doing better than the Reeds recently, which explains why they are higher in the World Rankings. And which is why I put them ahead of the Reeds in my predictions.

Can’t wait for it to start!

Ah! I hadn't realised that they had changed the scoring system for this season. But, I suppose that would explain why they don't have the overall results for each category on the Results Pages.
