Only found out this morning that Fulham FC forward Chelcee Grimes (who has been acting as a reporter for the BBC during the Women's World Cup the past few weeks) is also a singer / songwriter.

Here is the song that the BBC showed a clip of when she was interviewed this morning:

EDT to add: I remember, within months of Kent State, watching the National Guard march down Bay State Road from my dentist's office second floor window ... soldiers wore gas masks and held rifles... because Boston University students had stormed the President's office a block away and barricaded themselves inside... scary times

For those that want to hear the original, here it is:

New World - "Living Next Door To Alice"

Give me Smokie any day. The backing music in this version is just awful. And there is not the same level of feeling in the vocals. Or any feeling, if I'm totally honest.

No, if you want to listen to a song by New World, I would instead recommend this one, which I have always liked:

I'm so hooked on Kiryu and Versailles. Send help. And by help, I mean money for me to go see them live. And more money for enough private lessons get good enough at skating to do a program to one of their songs and actually do it justice.
