All of Park Hyoshin's songs, especially Yearning. Yang Da Il's songs too! :luv17:

YES FINALLY :hap57: Everybody needs to know how beautiful his voice is (and how terrific he is at singing ridiculously difficult songs)

My treasured (and soothing, which is good) CDs of Gershwin music played by the brilliant Australian pianist Simon Tedeschi (a present from my sister). I'm not sure if you can all get the youtube playlist...

One of the pieces that I would lovelovelove to see skated to (especially, of course, by you know who) is his gorgeous slow version of Nice Work if You Can Get It :)

(probably needs to be a gala piece ... but what a gala!)

Heard this song for the first time yesterday, and thought it was amazing:

Shinedown - "I'll Follow You"

I was on the way home from a motorbike race at the time I heard it. One of the other songs I heard on the journey home that I want to mention was a little bit more familiar:

But, of course, I was picturing this:

Yes, the quality of the video isn't the best. But, I wanted to link to one with the British commentary. And it was nice to see one of my Facebook friends in the audience near the end. ;)

I was gathering songs with 'easy' lyrics (i.e. simple vocabulary, standard grammar, not too much idioms/cultural references, straightforward story (since my student isn't the most literary kid), etc.) to use as homework material for my tutor student, and now I get why so many English teachers here (including mine from junior high) made students listen to Westlife. Their songs are very ESL material-ish, without complex grammar or vocabulary. Never mind my student wasn't even born yet when Westlife released most of their hits, I'm making him listen to a whole bunch of their songs

Evergreen is my favourite among their original songs, on the list it goes. Wish I could also add their cover of Seasons In The Sun (which I always had a soft for), but it doesn't meet the criteria of 'straightforward story' :sad4:

Some time ago someone told - and I do mean ordered me to listen to the Game of Thrones soundtracks, even though I am not a fan of the series (I do love and collect soundtracks, though).

The Night King from S8.

ETA: and can I just say, I was listening to it and then clicked on a muted copy of the ad for Yuzu's new DVD. The Night King would work as skating music. I have just watched it (sort of) and it so would...

Daniil Gleikhengauz agrees. Alexandra Trusova's new FS uses that and Pray.

This has not been a good week (it's gotten better), but I recently discovered this band Gang of Youths. Scrolling through their twitter feed I saw that they were touring with one of my all time favorite bands, Mumford and Sons, and were covering one of my favorite songs, "Blood" by the Middle East.

Look, sometimes the universe just hands you something to hold onto, and today this is it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ho18XT9b6a8
