Terrific interview. People rag on TSL but bless 'em--they actually ask the questions people want asked. And both C and T were wonderfully candid. Bless 'em too--I'm so bored with safe, boilerplate responses.

I've been reading Tran's twitter page and he's hilarious.

I have Much Faith in these two--I think when they gel they could very well be the best of the American pairs.

I wondered whether he had a shoulder injury- their lifts were a real struggle. Marissa has learned a lot this year in Montreal though! And I like the FS program a lot.

This quote from their last IN article may be pertinent:

When they first skated the program, both skaters found the choreography to be so challenging that they expressed doubt that they would able to do all of the elements. Now that they've reached the point of full run-throughs, maintaining the energy is a major issue.

I love the programs and their skating in general but Mervin does not look ready, he is injured?

I think he was injured. His hand was taped up and usually skaters don't go on the ice with their hands taped up. I would be worried about his jumps though. He has a tendency to miss those.

Yes, he has always had jump trouble-but perhaps working in Boston may help. The coaches there finally got Simon Shnapir to land his jumps more reliably.

I was more worried about lift difficulties. But if his hand is injured, it would not be good for position changes or intricate enties snd dismounts. May be heal soon!

Marissa and Simon's SP from 2015 Skate Detroit

Freudian slip? LOL

I enjoyed their TSL interview very much, they seem like a good team and well matched, maturity wise, since they are about the same age.

Hope Mervin is okay and I hope they kick a** this season.

FYI: Typo in Mervin's name.

Thx for adding the pronouncer :).

The thread that was in The Edge for the "Creating the program" series now has been archived, so I can't add today's new installment of the series:

It's the fifth and last part of the series.

I moved the thread back to The Edge so you can post the next installment info, if you still wish to.

Thx for being so responsive, Doris :). I have added the new article to the thread that you returned to The Edge.

And sorry if my previous post came across as a complaint about the archiving. I hope not.
(IIRC, the archiving happens automatically, I think? And not because any human beings are making case-by-case decisions as to when threads should be archived?)
My previous post was meant to be just an explanation of why I had not added it to the series thread ... as opposed to a complaint.

In any case, thanks for making it possible for someone to find the complete series in both threads :).

An archive is run at a specified time, and all posts in the Edge which have not been updated for X months are archived, so yes, it is all just automatic. If you need a post rescued from the archive, just PM any mod, and we can move it back to the Edge.

They are so kewt! They have such great chemistry together that it makes me feel there's something going on between these two behind the scenes.

I was thinking the same thing! :drama:

I love their chemistry. I hope their elements improve and we get to see them at Worlds.

love the music cuts and how their transitions illustrate the lyrics. They look promising! I like S/K but would love for Marissa to get her US title back!
