It was great to see Savchenko/Massot. I also liked Vartmann/Blommaert.

On the men's side I'm torn between the more refined style of Fentz and the exciting style of Streubel. I hope both skate their best tomorrow in the FS!

Daniel Herrmann and Dominique Dieck (there are a lot of Diecks around in the Dortmund figure skating scene (that's another story though) Sevan Lerche and jennifer Urban are separated now. No information yet whether they will continue with other partners...sad thing. She fell badly during a competition, maybe that is a reason.....

Franz Streubel will go to Europeans together with Peter Liebers if the latter is fit (tba) otherwise Paul Fentz will go as a substitute.

In Ice Dance, Kavita Lorenz and Joti Polizoakis (sp?) as well as Katharina Müller and Tim Dieck (brother of Dominique Dieck) will go to Euros.

The Ladies will be represented by Lutricia Bock from Chemnitz and Nathalie Weinzierl from Mannheim and the pairs by Aliona Savchenko and Bruno Massot as well as Mari Vartmann/Ruben Blommert, but we know that all, didnt we? LOL

The reports were very positive by both media and public...many figure skating alumni came for the first time after years not entering an ice rink and had fun, the organisation was really efficient and although the Essen ice rink is quite small (only 1 ice rink, not 2) everybody was accommodated ;-) A fun thing was the podium show...they had an idea driving the national champoins around in a sponsor's car (BMV) around the rink ;-))))) a bit gaga, but people liked it..I posted a photo of that on Instagram (tarancalime) I wish it would have been a Tesla, though, but well, you can't have everything!

German Junior & Novice Nationals were held in Berlin from 6 to 10 january 2016. Results are here.

Niko Ulanovsky didn't compete, but I hope he'll go to Junior Worlds! 1st title for Dimitrescu, Isaev, Schwendiger/Wunderlich and 2nd for the only pair Yuge/Bronnisefski. Surprised to see Minerva Hase in solo...
