I just wanted to say how impressed I am at Johnny's new show number, Creep. Great choreography and together with the lyrics of that song, it's just awesome. Leave it to Johnny to do it the unusual way.

Creep

To those who follow Johnny, is it known who the choreographer is?

Drew Meekins is the choreographer of a new Weir program, but I don't know whether it is this one.

I remember Johnny tweeted about working on Carmen with Drew...but maybe he did both at the same time? Just a guess.

AFAIK he has never had a fan thread here, strangely enough. I thought about starting one before, but since he was retired (and is rather polarizing), I didn't know if it would attract many posts...though he obviously still has a lot of fans around the world.

I wish I had been here when Johnny was still an active skater and controversial, I would probably have had a blast in the threads. I rememeber people bringing him up in some music forums I used to attend, though.

I'm nost surpried that he still has fans, he's made for shows that he can forget the restrictions at.

That was a wonderful number. One of my fave songs too, although I prefer Radiohead. Some great, and unusual, movement and positions.

I can't seem to find his fan thread, if one already exists, please mods delete or merge mine.

Not a big Johnny fan myself, but there are lots of people that are. So, I am amazed that he didn't have a Fan Fest!

I just did this search on Google, and there are lots of threads about Johnny on Golden Skate. In fact, ALL the results on the first 6 pages are threads specifically about Johnny!

However, there doesn't seem to be any general discussion threads that could be moved into the Fan Fest forum. All these threads seem to be about specific things.

Hey, there is even a thread from 2004 dedicated to Johnny's hair!!!

I'm just surprised that there haven't been any more hair threads in the intervening 10 years!!!

That's where I wish I had taken my computer with me so that I could link to you all the numerous wonderful programs Johnny has done. Having just my phone is such a bother...

In a few short words, I'll say that Johnny is one of the biggest inspirations for skaters, one being no other than Olympic champion Yuzuru Hanyu, who was always amazed by his beauty.
He's a true artist who, starting from his competition days, was never afraid to push against boundaries and who was always honest on his feelings and just be himself. And yes he has many many fans around the world for those reasons and for always being open to them.
He sadly never got the Olympic medal he deserved (aka Vancouver disaster), was often being critized by the press, the judges and the us skating federation (that may sound harsh but this is very true), but the public recognized him to be a real artist that can create magic on the ice.

I wish I could express more but as I said, typing on mobile phone is a bother.
Here's, at least, the link to his legendary The Swan. Though I'm linking the US national version (because it was flawless), this is the SP program that made him famous in Olympics 2006, and that remains nowadays, still a precious jexel and a reference:

Plumededragon, thank you for The Swan, and if you have time, I'd appreciate the links to other numerous wonderful programs Johnny had done! The period when he was an active skater was the period I fell from following figure skating, but I always thought he would have been right up my alley (I liked his Vancouver skate).

Well, there was some serious appreciacion of Machida's hair, if I remember correctly, so it's not like Johnny didn't leave successors!

Thanks^^ I'm going back home on wednesday so I'll have time to link other programs (if someone else doesn't do it before), and make better posts. :)

Ok, I gathered some of the programs Johnny has done over the years! He has done a lot of programs, so it's hard to gather everything. I chose a few that were relevant to me. Do not hesitate to contribute!

Some of them aren't of very good quality, but considering some are taken more than 10 years ago, it's quite old, lol!

His FS at World Junior Championship in 2001. He became the Junior World Champion at 16 after starting figure skating only 4 years ago:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Op38RgGe8xc
(sorry for the quality but onsidering how old the video is, it's quite hard to find high quality)

His magnificient "Dr Zhivago" LP at US 2004 Nationals, that gave him his first Nationals title. He got incredible marks, including a 6.0 for the presentation.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIkfE30GPWU
Also the WC version (the video has a slighter better quality, also worth watching for Johnny's reaction to the presentation marks that never failed to make me smile lol): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJhSo0pdWrs

His "Otonal" LP at US 2005 Nationals, where he kept his title with a presentation that earned him five 6.0 in presentation:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ttNzEwPMLM

The legendary SP that will remains HiS best SP, "The Swan" SP of 2006. I already linked it, I know, but I do it again just because. :)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lnWNgXkKgw

His 2008 LP "Love is War". He should have won the US Nationals with that program, but, of course, the judges decided otherwise, pfff... At least, he got his bronze World Medal with that program.
THe video is good quality too. :)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8N7PpS6ZZkM

His 2010 LP "Fallen Angel". The program that should have given him an Olympic medal in Vancouver, but didn't because of the discrimination and hate he suffered from at those Games.
This is the only video I found, so it's starting at 3:16:28
https://youtu.be/exEJ_GaDJI0?t=11787

A few EX. He has done a lot of beautiful ones, some fun and other serious. So I linked a few of them:
On a light side, he's the famous Lady Gaga "Poker Face" program he skated to in 2010. Very entertaining, I enjoy it still nowadays.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmzpCzQiGFM

His program "Ave Maria" from 2008, one that inspired many, including Yuzuru Hanyu (who not only loved that program but also created his 2012-2013 LP costume on Johnny's):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2G_E3cwRZ2o

His EX "Schindler's List". I like how each time he has done this EX, he wore very simple clothes that outlined and favoured the movement of his body:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNexTG8xEdk

His Bollywood program "Nagada Sang Dhol" from last year, video taken during Hanyu's show "Together on Ice":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIqn3-sCH0I

And for the last video, something unique and that has not been done again for now. The first Male/Male EX program "When Love Is Gone/Farewell My Concubine", during Artistry on Ice 2014, with pair skater Zhang Hao, the 2006 Olympic silver medalist. Johnny plays the role of the King’s Consort (Zhang playing, of course, said King).
Not only it is worth watching for being the first M/M EX done, but for its beauty and the incredible costumes both men are wearing. Johnny also has traditional-inspired make-up, making the whole EX even more real.
The EX has made headlines, standing ovations, etc...
