Charlène and Marco performed at the Golden Skate Awards in Milan yesterday, performing to 'Senorita'. Here's a link to their performance, taken at the event and posted on YouTube by a kind fan!

Absolutely thrilled that Charlene and Marco are in third following the RD at Euros today! They were fantastic to watch live - so fast and fun. They really get the Grease characters and it shows in their skating, and now that Marco's hand is healed everything is looking better than ever. Really want to see them on the podium on Saturday!

A brand new interview with Charlène and Marco from Inside Skating: https://www.insideskating.net/2020/...ard-and-marco-fabbri-believers-fighters-doers
It's a really interesting, in-depth interview which covers their whole career, including how they formed their partnership, and focuses on their most successful season (2018-19). They also discuss how they dealt with Marco's injury at the start of this season and confirm that they're continuing to Beijing 2022 (and the 2022 Worlds) but will, most likely, retire after that.

Thank you for posting this - I don't understand why their fanbase isn't so much bigger - they are such a charismatic and talented team.

Two new interviews from Charlène and Marco:

The first written by OA Sport (in Italian, but Google Translate seems to do an okay job): https://www.oasport.it/2020/04/patt...nio-aumentare-i-goe-sara-il-nostro-obiettivo/
In it, they discuss how they're training at home during the current situation, how Marco's injury affected their season and the reason for changing their RD half-way through the season. They also share their concerns about how quickly they (and other athletes) will be able to return to training and how this might impact next season.

The second is a video interview with RaiSport (in Italian): https://twitter.com/RaiSport/status/1253044202537136128
My knowledge of Italian is pretty basic but it seems they discuss how they're coping with training at home and they show some of the exercises they do. The interviewer also asks about their home life, and Charlène tells us gleefully that Marco does the cooking, while she enjoys eating the food!

Happy Anniversary to Charlène and Marco, who are celebrating 11 years together! Here's her Instagram post to mark the special occasion: https://www.instagram.com/p/CBZ98r8J3k5/

They seem to have been back on the ice for a couple of weeks and their team, Fiamme Azzure, posted a short clip of their training: https://www.instagram.com/p/CBOKCbmgcwZ/
The words on the clip translate to (roughly, my Italian is pretty basic): How do you train a spin as a pair? It takes much patience, thousands of attempts and corrections, without ever giving up.

I didn't realise they were a real-life couple too - that's nice - they certainly have a beautiful, caring and supportive energy together on the ice

Absolute Skating published an interesting new interview with Charlène and Marco: http://www.absoluteskating.com/index.php?cat=interviews&id=2020guignardfabbri

In it, they discuss Marco's injury from the 2019/20 and how this impacted their performances, how they chose their programs for the last season, and their performances/placement at Europeans 2020 and how they were affected by the long wait to skate their free dance. They also talk about the Papadakis/Cizeron vs Sinitsina/Katsalapov rivalry, as well as their favourite programs from previous seasons.

During an interview yesterday evening, Charlène and Marco announced their programs for next season: they're keeping their Grease rhythm dance and have chosen the soundtrack to 'Atonement' for their free. The soundtrack is gorgeous, so I cannot wait to see their program!
A link to the full interview, in Italian: https://www.facebook.com/watch/live/?v=739004656658853&ref=watch_permalink (they discuss their new free dance at about 06:15)

Charlène also shared some adorable photos of their new pet chinchilla, Molly: https://www.instagram.com/p/CEE30nepPhI/

Charlène and Marco have (unsurprisingly) been assigned to the Internationaux de France for the Grand Prix this season.
I'm really looking forward to seeing their new free dance, I think they've made a great music choice, as well as seeing their Grease rhythm dance again!

Charlène and Marco just skated in a National/Interregional Dance competition in Rome (which, according to this link, is the Mezzaluna Cup) and scored a huge 89.14 (full results here) which either means they skated lights-out fantastically or maybe a tiny bit of home scoring helped them out .
Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a stream of the competition and no videos have surfaced yet, but I really pleased they've been able to get out on the ice in competition and get their season off to a good start!

Charlène and Marco took part in a fun interview for the FISG, answering true or false questions about ice dance, some are serious and some are for fun. Here's the link to the video (in Italian) on the FISG Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CHsVm2zjdI-/

As a bit of fun, to practise my Italian, I've attempted a translation. Many apologies if there are any errors, I'm still learning! Any translator's notes appear in [square brackets].

Is it true that ice dancers have to have a foundation in ballet?
Marco: In some ways, this is a myth to dispel [false]; ballet certainly helps a lot and almost all ice dancers practice it sooner or later, but to do ice dance it is not necessary to have a foundation in ballet or to have had some lessons before starting skating or first beginning the sport.

Is ice dancing only practised in pairs [couples]?
Charlène: Ice dancing is not only practiced in pairs. More often, yes, but there are also singles [solo ice dance] in many countries. For example, in France, they also make national competitions for it [solo dance] more important, but it is true that it is mainly done in pairs.

Is it true that most of the ice dance couples are in a relationship?
Marco (joking): No, this is absolutely not true, no ice dancers stay together [off the ice].
Charlène (also joking): What do you mean, ‘No’!?
Marco: Since in dance there is a lot of interaction and there is a great complicity, from the outside it may often seem that the partners are together in their private life. In reality, there are not so many couples [together off the ice], we are an exception, in the sense that there are not many couples who are also together in everyday life, but in some cases, as in ours, it can happen.
Charlène: The others are just really good actors!

Is it true that ice dancers devote more time to hair and makeup than singles skaters?
Marco: I would say yes.
Charlène (laughing): Even though it only took me an hour to get ready this morning.

Is it true that it is the man who makes all the effort in lifting?
Marco (joking): Certainly!
Charlène: Certainly not!
Marco: It's not true. The lady has to help the man a lot because, if not, she would be a dead weight and it would be very difficult to do what we do, so, in reality, it is 50/50.
