^^^I can still picture him sitting there on that stool. He was so cute! That was before we knew he was going to a new coach. Am I understanding that right that he games while he's in the tub?! It's confusing to me. I love his comments about how he's happy if people enjoy his performances...Thx so much taro, this is definitely something I'll read more than once! Definitely something to warm my heart on a super cold and snowy Chicago weekend! :thank:

Thank you again taro for your translation!

It was great to read your translation and revisit the Colantotte meeting again. It felt like it happened ages ago  oh man, reading how hard Shoma was trying not to answer the questions about his programs this season crack me up in hindsight.

'Could you do the Shoma version of that "The Handling Manual of Me" thing for us in your own words?'

I think...I might be sort of different.
But lately, in my view, I think I've gotten to be more social around people,
and I don't get embarrassed that easily like I did before.
So I don't know...it's kind of hard describing what it is about myself...

Like you'll be happy when somebody would come up to you and tell you this or...

Something people would tell me that makes me happy...nothing particular. lol
No, no, it's not that...I'm getting to it.
I'm happy if they would cheer for me without even saying anything.
I work hard doing this sport.
And I think that people like me not because they think this Shoma Uno guy has a great personality
but because they like how I skate, then would want to know this Shoma Uno person, what he's about.
But at the end of the day, I'm an athlete.
So I'm happy if they enjoy my performances and cheer for me without even feeling the need to say a word to me or to anyone else for that matter.
I'm not really an extrovert and so I'm just grateful knowing that there are still so many people like I see here supporting someone like me.
It's rather that I don't think we even need a word between us. That's how I see it.

That's a cool answer, isn't it?

lol

I agree with the interviewer, this is a cool answer, lol. And for me it explains so much about Shoma.

Ok those of you who live close, get your tickets! Oh my. 6.50 Euros per day!

Thank you so much for the translation, taro! Love that answer too, rabidline, very Shoma

Great news this morning! :luv17: Can’t wait to see him skating again, both at PIW and at the Challenge Cup! I hope that nothing will stop him from competing this year. I wish I could be there in person...

What a great program.
It is a TV Asahi2 (pay TV) request special.(12th)
I can request my favorite Shoma or non-Japanese skater’s 5 performances.
But only from these competitions;
•GPS 2006-2019
•GPF 2005-2019
•JGPS 2014-2019
•JGPF 2014-2019
•WTT 2009, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019
I’d like to request JNats and Worlds, but I can’t.
It will be on air on 23rd Feb.

If you can request, what would you like to choose?

You know you are asking for specific selections, but I would totally love  a playlist with Uno’s Best Ever skates from each year... like, wow...

Another interview with Stephane during Team Champery's stay at Telfs, from the same news outlet that published the this article:
https://www.tt.com/artikel/16535535/schaulaufen-in-telfs-mit-superstar-und-hoffnungen

Google Translate works quite well, but if anyone wants to translate it from German, please feel free! :luv17:

The section on Shoma and how they work together, translated by Google:

You have also recently started training Japan's superstar Shoma Uno. How is the collaboration going? He hardly speaks English.

Lambiel: It is going very well. We have been working closer together since the beginning of November. I have known him since he was 15 years old because of working with Japan's national team. A few words of Japanese can be around 20, but Shoma doesn't need much to understand. A gesture or a word is often sufficient. We are well connected. Shoma is a great talent. What I give him can be used and he gives me a lot too.

Uno can look up to you. You are two world titles ahead of him.

Lambiel: Yes (laughs). We both have Olympic silver. I wish him more. He can certainly do more, there is no limit for him. It all looks so easy on him, though it isn't. Every time he is on the ice, he tries to do something heavier than last time. Sometimes it is not easy for my other runners to focus on themselves because he does so much. He is a role model for everyone.

I thought it was just me. Don't know why except every beat of the FS has an element assigned to it done beautifully. Love the musical choice b/c it's not so classical and more emotional. Well done by David Wilson & Shae Lynn. I've watched about a thousand times it's almost become a guilty pleasure. I have always loved watching Shoma skate but had trepidation b/c something always went wrong but at least I could think 'he skated beautifully, just wasn't enough'. To make this move to a new training camp now is perfect for his progress to the next level in prep for the World's, Olympics and better skating performances. Like Yuzu said, there are a lot of people out there. He knows that only too well.

These are mostly from the first part of the 2019-2020 season, but some new uploaded galleries for Shophotos content to tide us over until hopefully new soft PIW photos this weekend:

- Finlandia Trophy Men's and Pairs' Victory Ceremony by Margarita Voronkovskaya (zhem_chug)
My favorite is Shoma being chased out of the ice rink by a zamboni

Awww, someone in the comments said that Aleksandr Galliamov was /really/ looking for Shoma to get that selfie. Too cute.

So many lovely photos from Finlandia trophy ❤️ I can't believe Shoma was just a short metro ride away from me back then, if I had just "found" him a little sooner I could have gone there :( Ahhh too bad.. Maybe I'll get another chance :D

I’m sorry to see your post.
But you must be lucky I think.
Because if Shoma didn’t attend Finlandia Trophy, you couldn’t even know him.
And you did a good job that you could remind a Helsinki Worlds blue costume boy (Lavender Shoma).
It must have been inevitable.
I’m always happy to see a new fan like you are shoomed. :dbana:
I love your tweets, too.
Please share here sometime.
I hope you to see Shoma in front.
He has something special.:luv17:

He has something special.:luv17:

He truly has :luv17:

This season I wasn't able to attend any live competition in which Shoma skated ...I guess I'd been too blessed the past years with Lombardia and this made me realize that I miss so much his live skating because, when your are there, a few meters away from him, his allure is amplified and it feels like he's holding your hand and taking you skating with him; at least this is what I feel.
