I think he's one of the most promising young Russian men right now.

An interesting fact about Dmitri is that he comes from a family of skiiers (his dad is a coach), and began skiing at 3 years old, figure skating at 6, and did both for several years. He even made the junior national team in cross-country skiing. When he was 12, he decided to focus on figure skating.

His next JGP is Austria next week. I hope to see him do even better there and secure a spot in the final. :cheer:

So here are a few links to start, and I will try to add more when I have time.

He is very promising! During his FP in Riga, while talking on the chat, I even suggested that he should be sent to EC
His instagram isn't working. Maybe he deleted his account?

He did change accounts recently, but that is the name he uses (seems like he changed it a couple times). I added the hyperlink, so it should work now. It's set to private, but that's just as a spam deterrent, I think.

Dmitri was techinically perfect in his FP in Riga. He is absolutely promising and I think he had a well deserved win in Riga.
I'm looking forward to seeing his name on the roster for the jgpf 😄

He did have one fall in the FS, but the rest was so good that it hardly mattered. :)

This review was posted today by a girl who attended the competition in person. She gave her overall impressions of the competition, and took great photos. Here's what she said about Dmitri (Google translated):

But most of all impressions and emotions I have received from any of Dima. Even from the very first seconds of the program, it was clear that he came out with the fighting spirit. The program was unrealistically difficult technically, with complex were not only jump, but also access them. But Dima so confidently goes on every element that does not even have to worry much. But the ideal jumping - it's not the only thing that impressed me. I really appreciate when the skater feels the music, get used to the way of riding and emotionally. Dima succeeded 100%. Rental to be so heartbreaking and pathetic that I could not even hold back tears. Thank you, Dima, for such emotions!

If that isn't a rave review, I don't know what is! :points: And maybe his presentation didn't translate so well on video (I still think he was just uber-focused on the elements after the mistakes in his SP), but I really wish people would look at some of his other performances before writing him off as "just a jumper."

what a terrific review ! *.*
It is almost impossible to deny the obvious: Dmitri is a ''sumptuous'' jumper (this season his flip has improved a lot and he is already capable of executing 3 quadruples in training) and his facility for jumping is a rare and precious quality in the current field of Russian male skaters.

Having said that I totally agree with Gallavich: up to now Dmitri has proved himself more than a jumper and the tears of the review writer are a proof of that.

Yeah, glad to not see another disaster in the SP. Now I hope for solid skate in the FS. Good luck, Dmitri!

They are prince and princess in life. Alisa looks more mature off ice. Dima caught my attention even on his first junior circuit last season. Good to see such talented skater growing stronger and stronger with the season going on.
