Did Dimi just forget the axel jump or what? I couldn't believe that his last combo jump was invalidated because the axel jump was missing!
Edit: I just re-watched his test skate. He should have the axel as his 6th jump element but today he did a 3Lo instead. I suppose he was a bit exhausted so didn't have a clear head.

Doesn't matter, he had no chance to win. It was still beautiful and a fantastic first competition performance (just look at the guys from the US Classic). Nobody is perfect at the start of the season. I'm in love with this program!

i think he may still remember that he have 8 jump pass instead of 7 LOL. anyway nice skate from Dima! im so happy he landed all quads beautifully. im wondering if he'll gonna add 4Lz later since last season its also didnt really work out until 2nd half of the season.

Both of his programs are winners! Thoroughly enjoyed him. I'm hoping for better costumes for the season too. A lot of them don't have their costumes ready yet, I imagine. I loved that Princely costume he had last year for (I think!) the short. He looked so tall and regal. I always have the feeling that he is feeling the music in his soul when he skates. It is so appealing! Congratulations on his silver medal.

I watched and re-watched Dima's performances and I have to say...his both programs are true masterpieces! Beautifully choreoraphed, emphasizing his top class skating skills, I just feel absorbed into all the feelings that he is portraying on the ice. I really want him to gain more stamina, so his technical elements from the second half can be as good as the first ones, but even so, his SS from his LP left me speechless, he has the gift of interpretation and uses it beautifully. :luv17:
The thought that it's just the beginning of the season and his program will get better and better just gives me goosebumps. It'll always be a pleasure to watch him :thumbsup:

Because he didn't do any axel jump. It's required to have at least one axel jump in the program... it's a very bizarre and funny mistake.

I'm sure he'll easily make that correction with the 3A. I think at this point of the season, they're all still working at remembering their choreography. Nothing major. For a September competition, I thought he did really well -- especially the SP...Question, do we know why he was shaking his head in the SP? I didn't know if I was missing something! At first, I thought maybe he was chastising himself for a mistake, but I guess it was part of the program? I was puzzled.

I am sure it was a part of the choreography. He is portraying the artist Amedeo Modigliani, whose life was anything but easy. I think it was a part of the gestures to express the artist's desperation.

He says he was very exhausted after the Olympics, and only got a short break of 5 days to visit his parents in Ufa, but he was motivated for the new season watching the juniors compete. And I love this:
- With the fact that you caught up with the leaders of Russian figure skating, additional responsibility appeared?
- To be honest, I do not want to think about it. I would very much like our fans to believe in us. Even after the setbacks, the falls that are inevitable. I want to continue working in my direction. It does not matter whether I am a leader or not, I need to go out and defend the honor of the country.
Also, an adorable pic of Dima with one of his 4(?!) dogs now - how does he care for all of them? I guess he has help from Alisa and possibly his grandmother...

He missed almost a week of training after Lombardia because of a hard fall in practice.
Certainly not perfect today, but he always commits 100% to the performance, unlike some others who often seem to be phoning it in. His skating is so beautiful and mesmerizing even with mistakes. Love you Dima, no matter what!
