They missed their golden opportunity to qualify for the GP Final. If they would have placed at least 4th here then they would have been above P/K in the standings and they might have qualified depending on how B/K will do next week. E/K would have been qualified for sure if they would have beaten P/K here. But E/K were only 5th and now they are out for sure assuming there will be no WD.

They will skate at the Golden Spin next month as they should because despite the fact that they medaled at their GP event this season, it is not given that they would get two GP events next season. This is because at the moment their score is only 7th best score among Russian pairs and at least K/I will past them for sure and P/R might do the same. Obviously, we don't know if A/K and/or P/R will move to seniors after this season but we can be pretty sure that M/G and K/I will move to seniors. In any case, the fact is that if E/K is only something like 7th best Russian pair based on SB list then they might not get 2 GP events next season.

They did get their 2nd Challenger Series victory of the season which was great but they also lost quite a few points because of Alisa's jumps. In any case, all in all they have done very well this season. Two CS gold medals and a GP silver was definitely a lot more than many would have predicted.

It seems that Efimova / Korovin will not get a 2nd GP event unless someone WD and E/K will be chosen to replace them because it should be very much given that Stolbova / Novoselov will get the last Rostelecom spot.

After winning a GP silver last year and almost making it to the GP Final one could have thought that they would get two GP events this season but obviously this was not the case.

Their cleanest skate of the season so far :) So happy that they managed to land all their jumps without problems!

I have a soft spot for this team. They have good lines and speed, and a nice visual harmony together if that makes sense (maybe something about Moskvina's school?) but Russia's pairs field is so deep this season, I'm afraid they might get a bit overlooked in the shuffle. Hopefully their jump consistency will continue to improve and eventually (maybe next season) they can upgrade the tech a bit.

Wishing Alisa and Alexander good luck for NHK tomorrow! Not hoping for anything unrealistic, just for them to show what they're capable of
