Original Post by The Finn, Sept. 2015

They have their 2nd event at Poland this week, so, I thought I will open a thread for them since it seems they don't have one. This pair is very promising and they had a very successful international debut when their won at Austria. I wonder if they can break the Russian junior record which is 168.20 skated by Tarasova/Morozov in 2014. They could do it at Poland, or at the JGPF or at the Junior Worlds at the latest.

Their SP was really good at Poland, FS not so much.

Anyway, they have made it to the JGPF now. There are 4 pairs who are pretty even at the JGPF, so, they need to skate pretty clean to get a medal but in my books they are slight favorites to win the gold medal.

- Frankly, I did not expect such a rapid progress of the amine and Elijah, - said Natalia Pavlova. - In a couple of them got up just last year, but it is very suited to each other! Unfortunately, the final preparations for our proved crumpled because of the disease. Now even the general physical training has to take place again. Although I believe in children. They have mastered the required junior set of technical and artistically they never had no problems.

Their coach's interview

http://www.allsportinfo.ru/index.php?id=99919

google

- At today's training Amin and Ilya little jerky, - said Natalia Pavlova. - The ice was good and "jumpy" and the guys are inexperienced. They're the first year skating together. They participation in the final is very useful, because guys do not just compete, but also to watch the training of the strongest pairs in the world. Much to absorb.

- For you basically beat Barcelona in three pairs of Perm school or be higher than rivals from Ukraine and the Czech Republic?
- Regarding this we wont bother. We need to skate clean programs, then the place will reflect that. They're werent even a pair skaters the last year Even I did not expect that Amin & Ilya will make progress that fast.

- Easier to work with a pair of newbies as in this case, or some experiences athletes?
- It is easier to teach, not to retrain. This interesting and reasonable. Compare them with the Marina Eltsova and Andrei Bushkova or Tatiana Totmianina and Maxim Marinin makes no sense at all. For me the important thing is that the guys properly motivated. The rest will follow.
