Beauty! Do you by chance know how he performed? I now it's not a competition, but I wonder how his jumps were. He doesn't look so happy out there. Or maybe he is just to focused. :scratch2:

He stepped out of his 3A if I recall correctly but otherwise it looked good. He didn't appear unhappy, just focused on performing. He has a persona in this SP of a vampire and so he was in that zone. I think it's a good fit and am looking forward to seeing him perform this in Thornhill.

Roman won the bronze medal at the Skate Ontario Summer Skate, and more importantly, he has achieved the 220 points domestic minimum! :yahoo:

In a sense, his fangs have "drained the life" of all his competitors (with the exception of Stephen, who I suppose is the vampire hunter in this scenario

After Nicolas' score at Championnats I would not say Roman is the front runner but Roman can get a Challenger Series event.

Now that I'm 100% sure that he's a full-fledged senior ("Sadovsky has left behind the Junior Grand Prix for this season and is entirely a senior"), it turns out the dream I had 5 weeks before I had learned that Nam had disclosed in an IG livestream that Roman was no longer a junior was prophetic. :eek:

I even dismissed it as being "just a dream," but clearly my subconscious is smarter than my conscious mind.

Or our vampire prince has telepathic abilities (Lestat in Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles can read minds, for instance), and Roman chose to communicate with me through my dream :laugh:

to help me understand why he didn't keep his previous SP.

That is wonderful news!

I was becoming a bit concerned because the other Canadian guys had received a CS, but Roman did not. Where did you find this information? I had checked the Skate Canada and ISU's Finlandia Trophy websites, but I couldn't locate his name on the former or an entries list on the latter.

Well, we shouldn't expect him to medal (although there's nothing wrong with hoping), but as Mango had pointed out earlier, this competition should provide Roman with valuable experience. He's probably eager to see how he fares in the "big boys" sandbox.

It's old; I recognize this image because I saw it on Facebook last year (https://www.facebook.com/ElizavetaNugumanova/photos/a.336240006568871.1073741828.336235023236036/565465426979660/?type=3&theater), but I wasn't Roman's fan in the fall of 2016, so I didn't share it here (and I promptly forgot about its existence, so thanks for reminding me).

The 'sky' suffix indicates that his father's ancestors lived in what is now western Ukraine during the time those territories were under the Polish empire...i.e. Centuries ago.

Can't say more than that other than Roman is a popular western Ukrainian name, but exists in both heritages.

I haven't heard him quoted about Russian heritage ....but many folks with both are being very circumspect given the current international tensions.

I've finally uploaded my screen recording of the 2017 SOSS Senior Men SP Group 2 Warm-Up (the password is roman): [Dead link]

It's only 3.5 minutes long because the camera had focused on the previous skater's kiss & cry for the first 2.5 minutes. There is no footage of the Group 2 LP warm-up because the judges took a very long time to calculate the last competitor's score.

There was a nice 1-minute fanvid of Roman that used to be on Instagram, but I've noticed that the post has been deleted, so I've made it available here:
