I remembered him from Yokohama, he really impressed me with both performances. Not sure if he will go to Worlds but maybe it'll be good for him.

Vincent doesn't have the TES minimums for senior worlds, so he would have to go to another competition to earn them. I think most likely they will send Jason and Nathan to worlds and Vincent, Alexei, and Andrew to junior worlds.

How does it work that he's first alternate? If one of Jason or Nathan has to pull out, possibly last minute, he'll have to enter some emergency competition at the last minute to get the TES min? There are only a few competitions between now and Worlds. They could've sent him to 4CC hoping he gets the TES min there. I guess in that case they'd just send Grant instead.

At least if they had named him to the team, he could plan ahead.

Oh well, they probably didn't think sending Vincent to get top 10 at worlds is a sure bet. It's not a sure bet with Jason either but they're probably hoping he'll eke it out.

I think, honestly, the minimum TES was not really the sole issue -- Ice Network simply tweeted that information out, but I don't think it was to be taken as gospel as that's the reason they sent him for Jr. Worlds instead. USFS had already listed the Bavarian Open as a planned international assignment long before nationals and were likely prepared to send folks who needed TES minimum both at the junior and senior levels.

(Also he could not be sent to 4CC because he did not have the minimums for that competition for the FS because of his W/D from Golden Spin and the deadline for entries is Tuesday.

I think they used the criteria to determine that Jason's body of work justified sending him to Worlds.

I also think he's seen as best bet to help Team USA maintain its JGP and Jr. World spots.

Ultimately, I think Vincent will still go to Bavarian Open to get his TES minimums. I think in the meanwhile Jason will get monitoring and will advise him if he's not in shape (and advise Vincent to prepare accordingly).

All that said, great job Vincent. It was great to see him come back here after his struggles during the fall.

Congratulations to Vincent, for reaching the required minimum SP TES at the Bavarian Open, for Worlds. It was his very first international seniors event! Next is the FS score, should be a piece of cake ;)

Congratulations to Vincent for getting the SP TES minimum for Senior Worlds :yay:.

And thanks to Alex for the good news.

Golden Spin in December actually was Vincent's very first senior international competition. He competed his SP there before withdrawing from the FS.
