Vincent’s poem from his writing account. He suggested reading it as an old Eminem style rap, out loud (now we have to find an appropriate rap song for him to skate to :roll9: )

People always talk like they know who I am
But I know to walk like I don’t give a damn
‘Cause what I’ve been through is only just the start
And what I’m bout to say truly comes from the heart.......

Deep, poignant poem showing inner struggles and vulnerability. That takes real maturity and strength. So much admiration for him.
Vincent is not getting enough recognition and acknowledgment of his performance in the Olympics. People are dismissing his potential and talent.
He needs more support and love from his fans.
I made some screenshots to support Vincent and send him good vibes for Worlds :clapper:

I really likes this IN article on Vincent. because, he answers interviews with substances!!
He gave real information and insight about his figure skating.
It is apparent that figure skating is his dream and top1 priority of his life. And he is absolutely committed to it. His ambition is backed up by his effort to improve his figure skating weakness. And he is sharing/communicating "how" with his fans and this world. Intelligent, focused with a plan.

Go Vincent!:luv17:

Hmm-- the incenetwork article says he will start college classes either this summer or fall. I wonder where? If he stays with Gambill, maybe UC Riverside would be the closest? I haven't heard anything about Vincent applying to colleges like Nathan. It would be pretty tough skating competitively and being in college, especially if that entails moving again. But, they are both very smart guys with good educated families, so I'm sure they'll work something out.

Totally agree! You can tell the press loves him, unlike the crazy virtue signaling trolls who are attacking him for some stupid tweet that is none of anybody's business. Vincent has more important things to focus on than to answer to a bunch of hypocritical snowflakes. Best of luck at Worlds and hope you get on the podium now that poor Shoma baby may withdraw due to possible injury. Not to wish my Shoma cupcake any harm, and I hope he recuperates and do what is best for his foot.

I really like the new shirt - definite upgrade and cute collar!

That shirt he wore it in US national practice as well. it is another version of his competition red shirt, Actually I love it better than his competition one. I like the simple and elegant design here (less is more)

Also, that cute collar seems have some Chinese style(Chinese tunic suit)to it, and Vincent took fans suggestion to keep the top two buttons open, so that he will look better and show off a little neck and collar bone.

oh - it’s his practice shirt. I like its simplicity and the subtle sparkle accents are really nice.

No disrespect to our dear Vincent, but that shirt reminds me of a Chinese restaurant waiter. He deserves to wear something more elegant and sexy, such as this gothic punk shirt ;)

Yes, at least he upgraded from the hotel clerk uniform worn at Cup of China, but the shirt should be silk or brocade material, with some shimmer. I hope whoever is in charge of assisting him with his costumes will help him pick out a much more elegant and classy outfit next season.
Also, it looks like our poor Vinnie Boy is all puffy eyed and sleepy looking. Hope he gets a chance to get some deep, rejuvenating sleep before the competition starts.

2017 Jr Worlds videos

I’ve been checking Vincent’s WJC videos to get ready for the Worlds and watched the Gala Finale - World Junior Championships 2017.
https://youtu.be/-ypM2oDl8FU

Vincent at 4:33-4:57, announcer pronounced his last name in Mandarin. Fell several times throughout while attempting quads, poor thing.
Holding hands with Alina Zagitova at 6:05. Bet he never thought he was holding hands with the future Olympic Gold Medalist, something to boast about ;)
What a difference (less than) a year makes. Vincent and Alina sure have grown up! He has really matured.

Vincent's last name

Okay, I just have to make a comment about the pronunciation of Zhou, for any new non-Chinese speaking fans who visit this thread. It really struck me when the Olympic Channel commentators kept mispronouncing it as "Jau", especially when the announcer got it right. Hopefully, the announcers at Worlds will also pronounce it correctly. Of course, it's understandable that not everyone is good with foreign names, like Cha Jun Hwan and all those Russian last names, but Zhou is pretty simple since it's just one syllable. Non-Mandarin speakers would have trouble pronouncing the consonant (zh), so the "j" sound is used in the English version. But the vowel sound is a long "o", not "au" nor "oo".

For those who are interested, you can hear it pronounced the right way throughout the 2017 Jr. Worlds Men FS Group 4 Full Version video, https://youtu.be/WJUGq7sPY_E, during Vincent's introductions.

It may not be that obvious by ear, so you can see the interviewer pronounce Zhou in this interview segment at the end (starting at 1:09:49) around 1:10:19 and 1:10:42.

They should have included the fact that Vincent is the first person to land a Quad Lutz in Olympic competition! That is an important piece of information to omit :frown:

On the 2017 JWC podium with Dimitri Aliev and Alexander Samarin.
Sorry, Dima, I love you, but I hope Vincent beats you once again ;)

With Dima, Nathan, Daniel, etc.
Daniel, you don’t look too confident, does that mean Vincent is going to beat you?

Vincent, please slay it tomorrow, knowing that you are the first person to land a Quad Lutz in Olympic competition and the only person with a KILLER 4Lutz + 3Toe with arms overhead element. Skate your lights out !

WTG, Vince! He has an outside chance of a medal and can solidify his status as US #2.
