USFS Fanzone excerpt on full article:

Expanding His Horizons: Vincent Zhou in SKATING Magazine

If Vincent Zhou had a motto, it might be "Learning never stops."
Reaching out to new people, exploring different ways of working and pushing beyond his comfort zone helped Zhou exceed even his own expectations last season.

"It was about finding the kinds of training that worked for me, making adjustments to my technique, becoming more confident with my capabilities," Zhou said. "Reaching out to different places helps me constantly absorb new information. I was able to take in a lot of information in ways that could expand my skating."

The Brown pullover looks really good on Vincent. So glad he is able to find a school that meets his criteria & flexibility needs.

The hair stylist did a really good job and he looked comfortable, natural and at home in the outfits. Wonderful photo shoot!

Latest IG post from Vincent, posing with Andrew Torg & Tomoki at the Olympic Training Center:

"It's my last day in Colorado Springs before I leave for Champs Camp and college... So many opportunities await, and I'm full of hope and excitement for the future. Bye for now, Colorado!"
(Sorry, Camden couldn't make it today :()

Comment from Camden: "Wow this HURTS hurts. I would’ve come in just to take this photo😩"
(Aww, too bad they couldn't get together as a group one more time and hold a going away party for Vincent)

Andrew: "So proud brotha, we'll miss you. *Not salty about not getting hugged in this pic tho"

Daniel Tioumentsev also wrote a very touching message.

Vincent got a trim & colored his hair again with the lighter shade of mahogany. It looks quite nice.

Wishing him all the best in his new life and new season!

Vincent latest IG post:

At MJM (Mitchell Johansson Method) in Boston, with coach Hamada, Ross Miner, Peter Johansson & Diana Miro.

MJMSkating also posted a few more photos on their IG account (2nd & 3rd photos):

It was such a treat for the MJM team to have @govincentzhou & renowned, world class coach Mie Hamada at Cronin today! A great way to end the last official week of summer!

Vincent has also partnered up with Five Star® for their #StrengthNotStress campaign:

Together, we can inspire others to remain strong when dealing with stress!
Last season, it wasn't easy to pick myself up from the rough start I had, missing the podium by one point at both my Grand Prix’s and dealing with injuries and training issues. Inside and outside of the rink, stress was a constant factor in my daily life. That's where I realized that change had to come from within, and I found the strength and motivation to revamp my training, use my hard work in a better direction, and eventually discover success. That's why this campaign speaks to me and gives me an opportunity to support kids who need it--we all know stress is better off faced together than alone.

Vincent is in first place, with 89.03 points, just ahead of Keiji - scoreboard

From Figure Skaters Online
What a start to the men's SP! Vincent Zhou opens with a nice 4Lz+3T combination, and then follows it up with a great 4Sal and 3A! Like this Mumford and Sons program for him!

Video - I Will Wait
Wearing a lovely colored new costume for his SP. Very happy he upgraded from the black one worn during ice shows to this crisp new shirt! :agree:

From @rockerskating:
Vincent Zhou USA
4Lz(ur)3T, 4S, 3A - nice start to his season, another college freshman on the international figure skating scene

Scores from US Figure Skating

I am sure he will improve his jumps as the season progresses. Good luck with the FS tomorrow night, Vincent!

Thanks for the links, Arriba! Been busy this weekend. Haven't had time to get on my computer till now.

I think Vincent was telling Sota and Keiji about his dance battle adventures during The ICE, dressing up as Sailor Moon, a Japanese maiden and samurai.

Keiji & Sota did exceptionally well. They deserved their medals.

Congrats to Vincent for Bronze Medal Win at US Intl Classic!

Thank you, Arriba! Been busy this weekend. Haven't had time to get on my computer till now.

Congratulations to Vincent on his first medal of the season! You can tell how disappointed he was in the FS Kiss & Cry. Wish I could have given him a hug. It's okay, you will only get better as the season progresses. He moved away to college almost a month ago and had to adjust to the lack of ice time/rink availability, school, new environment & training situation. And he is probably no longer acclimated to the high altitude. He came back strong last season after starting out on several negative competitions, so this is not bad at all.

I had a chance to watch the SP "I Will Wait" several times and it is growing on me. As Vincent gets more familiar and fluent with the upbeat tempo and movements in the choreography, it will become better and a good vehicle to showcase a more buoyant side of him.

Lori's "Cloud Atlas" definitely has the potential to be another winner, just like CTHD was last season. It is a very sophisticated program, with nuance and power. Once Vincent gets more mileage out of the program and becomes more fluid with his lines, showing sensitivity and intention in his movements, it will be his best. I like the music cut and the vocals starting at 3:22. Really looking forward to the progression of the program and seeing it blossom.

Congratulations to Vincent and his followers here for the medals early in the season! I've missed him and his compatriot/fellow top US man dearly..Vince's programs are stellar -- especially his short. The music selection, choreo, and ubridled joy while skating to the SP are just beyond endearing to me. I hope this season goes even better than the last for him. Well done, you bright young man. :)
