Maybe Vincent was wise to WD instead of skating unprepared if he didn’t feel like he wouldn’t be in his perfect form. I’ll keep an eye out to see when he is back in competitions.

Hello Vincent fans!

Vincent was featured in the November Brown Alumni Monthly:agree:

https://www.brownalumnimagazine.com/articles/2019-11-04/fans-everywhere

(I saw the hard copy version as one of Spousal Unit's degrees is from Brown, it was full page and very nice:) Whenever he says a skater in something he is reading, he flags me;) )

Wow! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing the info, el henry! I've been taking a break from the forums since Vincent withdrew from GP, using the much needed time to prepare for the holidays and new year. Just saw your post today. Can't wait to share it with Vincent's Japanese fans. Wish they would have chosen a better picture, lol. Thank you again.

Happy holidays, everyone! Vincent and uncle Kurt were invited to the Granite Club in Toronto.

While many are still competing at Challenge, others are back at it and were treated to a guest session today with Vincent Zhou and the legend Kurt Browning.

Glad that Vincent had the opportunity over the Thanksgiving weekend to get together with Kurt for the session. Looking forward to more appearances over the holidays!

Any updates? Will Vincent be at nationals?

Hi, DSQ. Vincent should be done with the semester by the start of next year and there is no reason he can't go back to skating full time and defend his title at Nationals. His Japanese fan account uploaded some photos today of Vincent skating at Providence College Schneider Rink. Looks like he had the whole rink/arena to himself.

Hope everyone is having a peaceful & memorable holiday season. Enjoy the last Christmas of the decade and make it special!

Wow! How about that?! I just saw the news. I guess we can always expect the unexpected. I wish him the best of luck with Lee! Seems like they could be a good team together. And I know it seemed he liked working with Mie Hamada. I wonder how much of a role she will play.

Thanks for the update, Lunalovesskating! Really excited that the new year and new decade bring fresh coaching & perspective for Vincent. :hap85:This NBC Sports article has some additional information, listing Lori Nichol as one of his coaching staff. USFSA also mentioned the same: "World bronze medalist Vincent Zhou announced today that he will begin training with Lee Barkell and Lori Nichol in Toronto, Canada. Zhou will continue to train with Mie Hamada."

“I can’t thank Tammy, Christy and Tom enough for all they have done for me and my career,” Zhou said in a press release, adding on social media that the last few months were “very difficult.” “I’m excited to begin training with Lee, and also work more regularly with Lori, in Toronto, and continue to work with Mie.”

Lee will be able to help Vincent improve his jump techniques and Lori to further his focus on artistic development. Training with Satoko should be a good influence on the latter part.
;)
Really happy and excited for Vincent! Wishing him all the best at US Nationals and looking forward to cheering for him at Worlds! :hap10:

Great coaching changes in the new year for both Vincent and Shoma, right, Arriba? Their old coaching team did a lot for both guys but once you hit a plateau, it's time to look elsewhere for fresh perspective & input. Excited to see new influence, inspiration and continued improvement in the jumping department for both!

Really glad with Vincent's permanent switch to Lee, so he doesn't have to wait for Hamada's occasional visits from Japan. I am sure the stable coaching environment and new input will provide lots of inspiration & fresh mojo. Hope Satoko can provide the artistic inspiration and morale support at the new rink. I wonder if Vincent has moved to Toronto for good. It was hard for him to travel so far to Boston for training during his semester at Brown so it's good to now have a stable training environment and schedule. And it's great that he can work with Lori more regularly to continue developing the wonderful Cloud Atlas program. Hopefully, there will be more special programs from Lori in the future. Wishing Vincent the best with his new coaching team!

Hamada may provide the same input as she did last year around Worlds and WTT. Some extra coaching & support just before the big competitions.

Latest Fanzone article:
https://usfigureskatingfanzone.com/...eturn-to-competition-at-us-championships.aspx

Vincent did a lot better than he himself anticipated, coming in just under 3rd place. He did good for someone who just got back to full time training a few weeks ago.

USFS clip: https://twitter.com/usfigureskating/status/1221161867181162496?s=21

Jackie tweeted: he's just gotten stronger and more sure of himself all week long, he looked inspired.

With new coaches in the Kiss&Cry:

That new found inspiration & positive SP result should bring back more confidence tomorrow. Keep it up, Vincent!
